Officially in size 14! On my recent plane trip had about 5 extra inches on the seatbelt! Today at annual gyno appointment: Physician Assistant: any medical updates or recent surgery? me: yes I had the sleeve in July PA: pause. What's that? Me: weight loss surgery PA: oh, how is that going for you? Me: great, down about 60 pounds since July PA: omg, when you said you had WLS I was wondering why the heck you would do that ...you don't need it but that's amazing That felt awesome! To have someone I never met not realize I could have even needed it was a great feeling. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I am overweight! And I am thrilled!
Clarevoyant posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As of today, I am no longer obese! I know the BMI scale is not the end all and be all and is a bit sketchy but it is still milestone and I could not be happier. Have been bit down in the dumps so this came at a great time for me. -
Emotional roller coaster

I was woefully unprepared for the emotional aspect of this journey. Gets better every day but I still have my moments! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I don't want to embrace this stall!

The best advice I can give is to stay off the scale. It is difficult but only when I stopped weighing daily did I find peace. I would get so frustrated on a day to day basis and it would significantly impact my mood. Try weekly or even less frequently. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

It will get better. I just tried to sleep as much as possible first few days which made the roughest days go by faster. Keep clicking the pain button and rest! Best of luck!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

There was a recent thread in this you should look for with lots of responses. Most have no regrets but there are definitely some out there that would not do it again and they explain why which is important to hear. I personally am thrilled with my decision Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How does everyone deal with the social pressure to eat while eating out?
Clarevoyant replied to Travelher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am traveling for business now for two months. I have an apartment with a kitchen but eat out maybe once a week with work colleagues. The waiter always asking if I didn't like my food annoys the hell out of me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Will I be broken forever?
Clarevoyant replied to kjkashmaniac's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, it was definitely harder than I had planned for. Things do get much better day by day. The benefits I see now far outweigh the struggles I had the first month or so. Yesterday I was sightseeing on a trip to Dublin and walked 22k steps! Would have keeled over before surgery! Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Full feels much worse for me now. I still eat too fast and one bite too many and I am seriously uncomfortable for at least an hour. Thankfully I have yet to barf. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I am almost one month out. I had the six month waiting period, talked to lots of people and read this site religiously. It is still more difficult than I was expecting. I am very happy with my progress and have zero regrets but damn, this is so life altering and consumes my every thought. I assume it gets better? Things I am struggling with: Nothing tastes good. I can live with small portions but would like to at least enjoy what I am eating. Even Water tastes different. Did this happen to anyone else and does it get better? Protein. I can hardly eat more than a few bites of anything so getting my 60g though food is impossible. I choke down the Protein shakes and have tried so many to see if I can find one I like but no luck. I freeze the Isopure into popsicles and that is better than drinking it but still struggle every day. My largest incision is taking forever to heal. Been to dr twice who swears it is not infected and says the lack of protein had hurt my healing process (though the other incisions healed just fine.) I have really upped the protein intake last few days. The largest one is in the worst spot, right up against the band of my pants so it is constantly getting rubbed against. I thought I was so prepared but this is hard and my mom is the one I would be talking to about all of this every day but she passed away unexpectedly on Mother's Day and that is just making things even more difficult. Thx for reading. Would love any advice you have.

Harder than I thought
Clarevoyant replied to Clarevoyant's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I happened to stumble across this post today. What a difference two months makes!!! food is still blah but I am in a much better place mentally and have made so much progress. Easily getting Protein and Water in daily and energy has returned to normal levels. I still have my moments of frustration but this is the best thing I have ever done for myself! For those just beginning this journey, it is difficult but does get better! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
