Did anybody have their period at the time of surgery?
Clarevoyant replied to AnaLaura85's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes thank you for asking this question as it was on my mind too Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I asked my surgeon last visit. He said 90% leave after one night. The other 10% either are having trouble keeping liquid down or ask to stay because home is hectic with kids etc and they want peace and quiet Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What to expect at the psych evaluation?
Clarevoyant replied to charley27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was one of the standard personality tests, multiple choice. I.e how frequently have you thought about harming yourself etc Then I spoke to the psychologist for 10 minutes and that was that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

My anthem covers 90% Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Had my fifth month appt today and the surgeon scheduled me for July 18. Six month appt is June 28 and he will submit to insurance then but wanted to pencil me in now. Sh*t is getting real :-) On a side note I spoke with Anthem today just to make sure I was on track. The guy did say the six months is to ensure non surgical efforts are unable to work so that if I do drop below 40 BMI that would disqualify me because it means non surgical efforts did work. Seems silly that I will now be trying not to lose too much before it is submitted to insurance. I am right on the cusp since having lost about 10 pounds.

Great attitude! Plus now you know you can handle the pre-op diet! Did you lose a lot of weight on that? Mine is just one week but liquid only. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Scheduled for July 18
Clarevoyant replied to Clarevoyant's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh man, I'm sorry you had to reschedule. The insurance piece of this is crazy but will be worth it in the end. Nice to know someone on the same day as me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Ugh sorry that is so annoying. Did they resubmit today? Maybe you can call insurance tomorrow and ask them to confirm they got everything? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi all, what are your favorite apps for tracking Protein grams? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
-
My dr said fine as long as it does not interfere with getting all fluids and Protein. I have not had surgery yet but asked in advance as I do love my coffee and was going to start weening myself in advance if I had to so as not to go through withdrawal on top of recovery. I feel like my partner isn't even trying to eat better
Clarevoyant replied to Foxy_lady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Losing weight and having WLS is such a personal choice. You were ready, he clearly is not and you can't will him to be ready. Think about how you reacted when people tried to push you before you were ready. Having said that, your life is going to change drastically for the better. More energy, more confidence etc. you are going to want to do things to enjoy this new life that you didn't before because it was too hard or because you didn't have the energy. If he is not in a position to do that with you it is going to put a tremendous strain in your relationship and it sounds like he realized this before you did this was not on board with your surgery. I wish you the best of luck in working this out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Frustrated ; waiting game
Clarevoyant replied to hazelzay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Anthem as well and will likely submit end of June so am curious as to how long they take. Did you have the six months of supervised visits? -
Hi, my surgery will likely be in July. My surgeon said I should only be in the hospital for one night but I have read elsewhere 2 nights. Just trying to see what most people experienced. How many nights did you stay in the hospital and what determined your release? Thanks!

Cheating on the liquid pre-op diet :(
Clarevoyant replied to leebick's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As others have said, I doubt it will be a problem. Sounds like you made the best choice though in a difficult situation so good for you!
