@@Lindsey Skinner Abbott I had the iud for almost 5years all was great until the last year of having it I had it removed when I started having some crazy symptoms and one of them was unstoppable vaginal bleeding I took it out an voila no more bleeding my first monthly was a lot not sure how things will change on the thinners though Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

None in my lungs thankfully but the portal is what sent me to the hospital as well. I have moments where I get around great but there are times like yesterday I couldn't walk a few steps without being completely winded I went to the ER and they found no cause...I realize the stuff leading up the clot but that pain I felt the day I went to the hospital I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy...glad you're doing better hopefully it'll just be up from here Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

Did you stop your antidepressant at the same time you had surgery? I'm sorry to hear you're feeling down. From what everybody says, it's common and it will pass but right now I'm sure that doesn't really help. Are the quads pretty much taken care of? Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App I stopped a month or so before surgery because the one I was on was coated so it couldn't be crushed....I thought it was the common down feeling but it's just gotten worse to a point I don't even speak to anyone and have lost complete interest in everything so I know it's a little deeper so I figured to start up again won't hurt....the clots are still under monitoring unfortunately the treatment that could be given to break them down giving me much needed relief is too dangerous because I'm so soon post op so I kind of have to just continue on with my thinners and hopefully my body will break them down on its own. The pain has relieved tremendously however when it comes it's terrible...the shortness of breath they say is cause of them but shouldn't be as severe as it is however after numerous tests they still can't find the cause so back to the surgeon n pcp I go to figure smthn out Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

Hey ladies I've been MIA btwn these blood clots...shortness of breath...and just this grey cloud over I didn't want to push my negativity on you all...I, like some of you ladies just don't feel like myself anymore...idk if it has to do with the eating or the illnesses but I'm just so tired all of the time so I'm actually restarting my anti depressants to see if it'll give me a boost...I hope you all are doing well... I am so happy for you that you're not enduring so much pain...my pain was debilitating....I couldn't stand, sit, or anything. I am finally home from the hospital after 6 days and still need pain killers, the clots were fairly large. I wish you a speedy recovery but with all the fluids they gave me I've gained ten pounds I hope to lose them quickly but also recovering soon I'll be on xarelto for a few months and have to follow up with hematology. I totally understand the fear I thought the same thing...all of us ladies are some tough Cookies and we have each other! Grateful for this lovely thread and support from you wonderful women. Are they giving you fluids? Yes it's going to be rough but once they get the heparin going n it reduces the swelling it'll get somewhat easier Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

Mine went away after about an hour n then it got better but they gave it to me through Iv first two days are going to be tough I think after morphine they gave me dilaudid which helped a lot. Ugh I feel so badly you're going through this. I found no underwear helped ease it also (sorry for the tmi lol) Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

I think that comes from when your incision starts to heal and I felt that way if I did too much activity or stretching around, also if my undies were too tight Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

Good morning ladies I hope everyone is feeling good...I've been in MIA Still at the hospital attacking this clotting issue, I slipped into a depression but today I woke up ready to roll with the punches...how are you ladies doing? Hello ladies sorry I've been sleeping on and off due to pain meds yes I had a cat scan that showed one in upper abdominal n one by spleen....the pains I had yesterday were all due to this that's why I couldn't stand, lay no matter what I did I was in pain and nauseous....I also was short of breath still in pain today can barely tolerate liquids so I'm being given liquids and blood thinners with hopes to reduce them....they say they don't know why but this can happen with wls surgery I guess I just got "lucky/unlucky" Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

Well initially he pissed me off saying I'm just being anxious n I was so upset because of course I'm anxious I'm in the worse pain...he told me put on a tight garment and drink warm tea which I did pain went slightly away n now it's back so he called back and told me to come in to emergency room I'm so sad i was doing so well Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal
