How fast can you return to work ?

I was forced to go back to work after 2 weeks and it wasn't enough for me it just made my healing take longer. Fatigue and weakness from a lack of food was a factor. I think a minimum of 4 weeks is good Sent from my SM-G928C using BariatricPal mobile app

  4. I'm very nearly 4 months post op. I have good days and bad days. My bad days are mainly when I have foamies (slime) and either feel like I'm going to throw up for an hour after I eat and get better after tons of belching or actually throw up. I figured this happens to me when I eat too quickly or maybe just a tad too much. As much as I try I can't seem to slow down when eating (bad eating habits from my obese past). Anybody have any tips on how to slow down? I've tried putting my fork down between mouthfuls unsuccwsafully and have recently downloaded an app. Sent from my SM-G928C using the BariatricPal App

    Sweats after eating

I'm 3 months post op a day this has started happening to me in the last 2 weeks...I get really hot and my head feels like it's on fire..I feel dizzy too. I have learnt to wait 20 mins or so and let it pass but I guess my eating habits need to be rewired (eat slower, eat less). It's hard when I'm barely eating anything. Things you wish you'd known.

I'm 8 weeks post op. What you should know is give yourself time to recover... I was forced to go back to work 2 weeks post op and it made me feel so much worse. The other thing to know is you will have feelings of regret because you'll feel bad and you will have low moments because you can't eat at first but you have to know it gets better. I feel so much better now and I know it will only get better just keep reminding yourself that. Sent from my SM-G928C using the BariatricPal App
  10. I got my sleeve on May 15 so that makes me nearly 7 weeks post op. During the day as I'm at work and am too busy I usually eat light foods such as yoghurt cheese or turkey slices and melon. At night when I'm home I cook for my husband and eat what the doctor has said is ok for me e.g. eggs, mince meat, fish, veggies etc something that has been cooked... however my portions are really small and as soon as I eat I feel gasses (bubbles) stuck in my chest and I'll feel like I've eaten a whole lamb. For the foods that sit heavy in my stomach I don't bother trying them again. But this happens every evening no matter what I eat, i get abdominal pain and I either have to lay down straight away or walk around until the gases are all out (lots and lots of burping) and the uncomfortable feelings goes away. I haven't vomited yet but I feel really sick. It takes about 45 minutes to subside. Has anyone else had this? What am I doing wrong? Sent from my SM-G928C using the BariatricPal App

    Stall

I'm nearly 7 weeks post op and I stalled about 2 weeks ago. I know I should be going to the gym now but my current situation at work doesn't allow for that just yet. What's the best thing to do until I can start exercising in a couple of weeks? Sent from my SM-G928C using the BariatricPal App
  15. I was sleeved on May 15 so I'm very nearly 4 weeks post op. At 16 days post op Dr said I could start on soft foods and then a week after that on 'real foods'. I began but had trouble and progress went a little backwards ie. I could barely drink or eat. I went to the dr and he said it happens sometimes and it could be spasms so he gave me some medication and that everyone progresses differently. I've only been able to eat one square of cream cheese and a yoghurt a day with very little fluids. I tried scrambled egg but it didnt sit well. I was able to have two teaspoons of mashed potatoes and carrots at one point. I had to go back to work 2 weeks post op so obviously with a long work day and very little fluids im been feeling very weak. Did anyone else experience this? Suddenly yesterday I was able to have an evening 'meal' and drink a lot more in the last 2 days. I'm excited this might mean I'm ready to eat and drink better. I want to be able to get more Protein in rather than depend on dairy. Can anyone help give me some food ideas for the soft food to real food phase? I paid for the surgery myself and I'm not in the US so do not have access to a nutrionist. Just wanted some ideas to keep me going. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G928C using the BariatricPal App

  19. Don't trip potato chip. If your doctor said it's okay, it probably is. As far as losing, you will definitely lose weight although for me, and I'm phat, my health is more of the concern so I don't let the scale define me. Thank God! Everyone loses at a different pace. At my week check up I had dropped 22 pounds. I have NO IDEA what I've dropped since then. (I'm just starting my 4th week postop). I really don't care, I just know I'm going in the right direction. Good luck girl! Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App I was more concerned about getting pregnant than the weight issue! 23. I had my sleeve on 15 May and was discharged 17 May. The doctor advised that I should start having between 2 to 3 litres of liquid a day from the 18th. I haven't been able to have even a litre a day since then as I every time I take as sip I feel gassy and get some stomach cramps that pass in seconds. Is this normal? When will the gas go? Will I get dehydrated? When will I be able to have more than just sips at a time? Im even finding it hard to take my liquid meds. I'm trying to go for walks each day but feel very tired very quickly. I'm going back to my desk job a week post op and am worried I'll be too tired if I don't drink enough. Any advice/help advice appreciated. Sent from my SM-G928C using the BariatricPal App
