I've been struggling with my obesity since I was a child. I remember being about 7 or 8 years old, going to the doctor and him telling my grandma "if she can just stay around 140 lbs until puberty, we should be okay"... obviously, that didn't happen or I wouldn't be here! I had considered WLS 3 times before it finally felt like it was right for me. I had just gotten engaged and, unfortunately, had a miscarriage a few months later. At that point, my ob/gyn told me it likely was not weight-related, but it *could* have been. Of all the roles I will play in my life, being a mother is among the most valued. The option of not having a child due to my weight is something that really heavily weighed on me and my decision to begin this process, to regain and improve all aspects of my life and my health. So, here we are...
