Anyone have to do post op liquid diet?
ccnb replied to correak's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Popsicles, Jello and pureed Soups. I make my Protein shake with carnation instant Breakfast essentials, 1%milk and vanilla Protein powder. Sometimes i add decaffeinated instant coffee or cinnamon or nutmeg. There is an app for the nutribullet worn tons of shake recipes. Hope this helps!! I'm over 3 weeks out and my largest incision still hurts when i move a certain way. I think it's getting worse. The pain is sort of spreading to my belly button. Sneezing is horrible. I've called my surgeons office twice and they said it was part of the healing but I'm concerned because it's not improving and sometimes it seems worse... I'm only two weeks out but I'm starting to become depressed. I've lost 12lbs since surgery 10 in the first week. Now I'm gaining and losing the same 1lb. How the hell could this be? I'm taking in less than 900 call a day my shakes included. I'm walking and doing a stationary bike and nothing is happening. Is it possible that the surgery didn't work? Wth is going on? My doctors office isn't very helpful or supportive, after i had the surgery i felt like they could care less. I'm just really feeling down and i don't know what to do. Update: I lost 6 more pounds! Thanks for the encouragement and advice everyone!! I think I'm more mentally prepared for the ups and downs. I'm gonna stick to my plan and only weigh myself once a week. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

That's normal i was the same. They used gas to blow up your belly so they could see, or sux for like 3-4 days. Walking helps. It must stopped hurting to swallow my pills like yesterday, I'm almost 3 weeks out. I ended up in the hospital am extra day because i was retching when i tried to swallow anything. It sucked. It gets better. I hope sooner than later for you Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App *it, just Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

The problem i have with sugar free is that artificial sugar makes you crave real sugar, also your body can't digest artificial sugar and i read a study that said substituting artificial sugar for regular sugar doesn't have any impact on ppl w. DM. I have been getting no sugar added or reduced sugar stuff and I'm happy with it Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

I think they are less than 200 kcal. My mother in law makes me a lot of pureed dishes but i stick to my 1/2 Cup servings Cuz i feel sick if i try to push it. My meals are typically 150-200kcal. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

You are putting you're life in there hands. If you are not 100% confident in the team or the process you absolutely need to go elsewhere. Surgery is a small part, you need structure and support, this seems to be lacking at your current clinic. This isn't a quick day surgery, this is a complete lifestyle change. You have every right to be fully informed and mentally prepared for this. It doesn't sound as if these people are concerned with anything but getting you in and getting your $$. Please do research and consider going elsewhere. Good luck to you! Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

I think it's because of the decrease in nutrients. We're essentially starving ourselves. I'm terrified about losing my hair. I love my hair! I've been taking Biotin from day one hoping it'll help. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

That's true, it'll give the skin time to adjust to the weight loss. Good luck to you I'm praying that the biopsy is benign. Either way it goes God has you and will get you thru. Keep us updated. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

I'm really sorry to hear that you've been having a rough time but instead of thinking this is going to be a bad day maybe there's a way that you can make it a better day sometimes things suck and they're out of our control but for the most part we can control how we feel about it and what we do to deal with it I understand that this is a struggle and it is a journey for all of us and it's difficult but we'll get through it I am also thankful for all the people on this website they've made me feel so much better I was really feeling down I hope that things get better for you, I'll keep you in my prayers and my thoughts and if you ever need to talk please feel free to message me good luck to you I hope your day is better Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

Just scheduled my pre op. Surgery Date is June 1st. I'm an LPN, mother of a 3yr old girl and in school working towards my ASN. I'm pretty nervous about the surgery. I'm concerned about losing my hair after surgery as well. Any late may early June sleevers? What Vitamins is everyone taking? Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
