    A1C before surgery...

Mine was 8.8 and my fasting blood glucose was 178 with meds. The moment the surgery is done, everything will change. Don't worry. This is why they do the surgery.

    JP drains?

I too, had a drain for the first week. After it was removed it felt like my life had just begun. My doctor said he likes to see what's going on inside. Good luck!

    Trouble Swallowing

Try eating slowly. I have the same feeling a lot still and I am 3 months post op and thought I was overeating. I asked my surgeon about the stuck feeling and he said it is a spasm from eating too fast. I hope this helps Sent from my Nexus 7 using the BariatricPal App

    Scared to Death

I want you to relax and don't worry about the surgery. I was literally scared out of my wit's, I was terrified!!! I was worried I wouldn't be here for my one and only daughter, but as you can see it as for not... The surgery is a piece of cake, a walk in the park and same for the shots. This will be the best decision you have ever made. I had no pain except for my big b_tt from laying on the op table. Don't worry be happy!
  10. Does anyone know about the vitamin patches, are they irritating?

      Cervidae

I've been using vitamin patches for 8 months and my blood work is the same as it was before: perfect. I use the PatchMD brand. You gotta use them on an area that doesn't have a lot of fat, like a shoulder blade or collar bone. I also sometimes put it on my ankle.

@Cervidae: I am so glad to hear from someone that has used them and gotten their boodwork back with no deficiencies. Thanks so much for the info!

I use the B-vitamin patches from PatchMD and I love them. I don't use the multi-vitamin patches, but after my first set of labs, everything was in the normal range so I guess they work well and I personally have no issues with irritation, although I'm sure everyone will react differently to them.

    Cheating on preop

I wouldn't worry. The surgeon I had doesn't require a pre-op diet and he has a perfect track record. Do let them know though. Everything will be fine Sent from my Nexus 7 using the BariatricPal App

    Prickly Feeling?

I had the same prickly feeling and a burning sensation where my incision sites are, I think it is a sign your body is healing. You're not alone!
  13. I had my surgery same day as you did and I have had 0 vomiting. I think you may have started eating fibrous foods too soon. I only eat very plain and non acidic foods. Try eating like this and I'm sure you'll feel better. Take care Sent from my Nexus 7 using the BariatricPal App
