    No One In The Sixties?

Had the RNY Tuesday 31st. Home. No nausea. Get tired quickly but a little better each day. I'm so proud and happy! Some unladylike bowel issues (nobody mentions this?) but hey after 64 years there's not much we haven't learned to handle, right? Happy I made it through! Thank you God! Bless you for your support. The journey begins.

    Omg! Omg! TMI alert!

This happened to me too but mercifully I was still in the hospital and the nurses aids cleaned up. The worst grossest experience of my life and nobody warned me about the first BM. Vesuvius explosion of grossness.I feel angry and ill prepared and that i could have been warned so i could prepare. By the grace of God it didnt happen at home. My older disabled husband could not have managed. Now im home and have leaky farts and trying to figure out how to manage

    Omg! Omg! TMI alert!

I'm on day 5 post RNY and this is my issue too-not being able to trust a fart . I'm trying to figure out how to cope. Is this a long term thing? If so why isn't it talked about more so we can prepare Depends, wipes, bed pads before coming home?!! I feel upset at lack of preop information. What do others use to cope with this. Is it only RNY?

Before and after in your sixties

This reminds me to get some "before" pictures before surgery next Tuesday. I avoid the camera almost completely and use photo shop when I do. Sounds familiar?
  8. @@redgoddess I'm on May 31st too. Well into preop diet. How are you doing? Where are you? I'm near San Antonio tx. Good luck! I selected just 4 family members to tell to avoid all the storm of naysayers. I have to do this for me and all my growing family . I'm RNY. 64. 230 LBS. Prayers all around!

    No One In The Sixties?

@@catdaddy and Julie Norton. Thank you so much for you lovely feedback. We have more to lose and so much more to gain at our age. I relish the joys to come, like visiting my new grandbaby in Hong Kong, without resorting to a wheelchair at those enormous Asian airports!

    June Surgery

Trying to hold on to all the reasons i decided this. Like being able to get on the floor with my granddaughter and get up again. Climbing the Great Wall of China with my kids. Gardening. Walking again. ..working out without joint pain and high blood pressure. ..yet afraid. It's good knowing others are here.
