melsleevedlife got a reaction from Mz. Leannais in Stalls and Weight Gain shortly after surgery
    I had VSG on 5/25/16. SW: 245.
I lost 10 lbs in the first week after surgery, then stalled for the next 2.5 weeks. Then I GAINED 2lbs over the last 3 days. I drink 2 Protein shakes per day and eat pureed diet (Beans, lean meats, cheese). In total I get 7-8 cups of Water a day and 80-100g of Protein. I am so frustrated! I am trying hard to follow the program, but I feel like I'm a failure. I feel like this is just one more thing that doesn't work. Has anyone went through this? Advice?

one fact is, you are not likely eating enough to gain FAT. so there are other things going on here, as our bodies are complex.
it is frustrating to change your whole way of eating and not wake up skinny. I am right there with ya on that - but the program works, and so you just keep following it - and you will make progress.

You aren't "stalled", you are a fresh postop. Your body has one overriding priority right now: healing from a major abdominal surgery. Follow your postop instructions. Get in your Fluid. Get in your Protein. Nap when you're tired. You are very, very hard at work on the inside.
Weight loss will come if you follow your program. Hide the scale, give it to a neighbor, but stay off it. Honest. This is all quite normal!

None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience weight fluctuations, slow downs, and stalls.
    Just follow your program.
Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids.
Avoid added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), starches, and fried foods.
Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed.
    Exercise when cleared.
    And, stay off the scale.
If you are unsure about what your program entails or your progress so far, why not give your NUT a call to check in.
