Kidney infections...anyone...on pre-op diet?

Hi! I am scheduled for surgery on May 24th, thus I am on my 2 week pre-op diet. I started the diet on May 10th; after about 3 days I found myself very lethargic and marked it up to the changes my body was going through. Today is the 6th day on my diet and I have all the symptoms of a kidney infection; along with a dull headache and still weak. I am so frustrated. I am making an appointment tomorrow to see my primary. SO, my question is---Have any of you had this problem? Thanks and have a good week.
