    Hi October Sleevers!
I'm almost 4.5 months in, and so far so good! I am down around 110lbs and it's been smooth sailing so far. I've been eating a variety of food and doing a "reasonable" job at keeping up my fluids.
A few days ago everything seemed to change... All of a sudden I have zero appetite, and when I do try and eat something (because I am keeping in mind that I need to fuel my body) it just sits VERY heavy and I get stomach cramps for the next couple of hours.
This means for the last 3 days I have literally only eaten a few spoonfuls of food - after that I get stomach cramps for 2 hours then I feel fine again. I am not hungry and don't have any other complaints... But I am worried that suddenly I am not eating anything, and my attempts to eat are not going well.
Has anyone experienced this? I searched the forums and the only other posts I could find about loss of appetite were from people immediately pre or post surgery. Or some others had it 3 months in but it was related to integestion and stomach acid issues... I don't believe that's what I am experiencing as I feel fine, just not hungry at all.
Previous to the last few days I had a good appetite and was eating (and enjoying) three meals per day.
Added: I am still able to drink fluids without any problems, so I am keeping my fluids up - I wish I could eat something though just so ensure I am getting some nutrients in.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

I was 261 on October 31st, 2017 and today March 3, 2018, I am 212 pounds! My antidepressants are being adjusted and that aspect has been hellish. Crying myself to sleep some nights, now I'm coming out hopefully. I workout as I can somedays it is hard to get my butt out of bed. I get in gym time 3 days a week of about an hour, learning to give myself grace while at the same time holding myself accountable. I sleep so much better without that 50 pounds on my chest and body, more then just looks (I do look better) is I'm able to move more quickly as I workout, and I'm not yawning after I leave the gym like I used to. So it's worth the mental battle as my body is like a leveler bubble all over the place right now, it'll find the center soon enough. Pray for me regarding my ongoing depression please for those that do pray. Thanks.

What about Protein Shakes? They are the only thing I could think of. Powerade zero, sugar free Vitamin Water, sugar free propel. Jello. Sorry I dont have many answers. Oh and if you are drinking sugar free, check the label. I cant do crystal light, (they use sweet n low). Makes me soooo sick. I use 4C, they use splenda.

Well - the week does start in two days and sometimes you need a day to make a new plan or pick what elements will work for you.
Yoga - well even if it's not for everyone, quiet meditation can be valuable.
But - yes this was at least 50% shameless book plug.

Hannah83 reacted to James Marusek in Dangers of Excessive Exercise
After surgery, I found that I had increased energy and stamina (the ability to perform physical labor). Over the years I had become flabby and overweight, but now I was fit and lean. Exercise is good, but sometimes one can overdo the exercise and cause harm.
Rhabdomyolysis, or rhabdo for short, occurs when muscle damage is done after trying to lift too much weight, or lifting with such frequent repetition that it prevents the taxed muscles from resting. When this happens muscle fibers break down and die. These fibers then enter the bloodstream and can create kidney problems, and in some cases, kidney failure. Some severe cases may require kidney dialysis.
How do you know whether you're in danger of being afflicted by rhabdo? There are symptoms to watch for, but since they aren't specific to this condition it's hard to tell whether a specific weight-training workout, or an intense stationary bike-riding session, is the culprit. In addition to obvious muscle weakness, other symptoms include: nausea; fever; feeling of sickness; bruising; lack of urine output and/or dark-colored urine; fatigue and vomiting.
The best prevention is exercising common sense. Don't overexert. Hydrate by drinking Water during your workout. And as soon as you begin feeling prolonged muscle fatigue or more than 30 seconds or so, stop what you're doing. And rest.

Hannah83 reacted to aussieslady in Doctors office staff
My surgeons office is fantastic. They email, they call, they are so respectful. Wish my cardiologist office staff could take notes. Cardiologist states he doesn't expect any issues but wants to have an echocardiogram and treadmill stress test prior to surgery. No worries, I get it. I ask if I am allowed to do them at the same time (working girl here and trying to limit as much time for the sake of office/boss as possible). He is kind and "oh of course you can do that." His staff argued and huffed at me and then put my test weeks out, and since then has refused to send me records to my surgeons office, even though they have told me they would fax. Staff told me he was not in the office the day of my tests and that is why they were not read the day of............wrong, he is greeted me with a hello as he was reviewing a chart between patients the day I was there. I see him again Monday for my follow up (and of course another copay), my records will be in my hand BEFORE I leave his exam room. Thank you, rant is over!

I have to say mine has been quite successful. Yes, I need to lose more. 5 years now. Your body was telling you something very early on and your choice should have been to go to your Banding surgeon. They would have found the problem and dealt with it. I could be wrong but that sounds like the logical thing to do. I still go every 6 months and they do xrays to make sure all is still good.

Hannah83 reacted to Jodie_G in Considering a lap band - scared after reading this forum!
I know I'm new here... but I've been banded for over 8 years and just found you guys!
Personally, I love my band. I've had some hiccups along the way. Stress at one point affected my band; my band got tight and I had to have Fluid removed for a short period. Then, I've gained weight due to temporary lost mobility. (I've gained back 60# of the 164# I had lost and am working to get those nasty hitchhikers off again.)
We all test the band. (We bander's quickly learn about sliming and bypass patients quickly learn about dumping syndrome.) The band has worked for me. Other's it hasn't. Same goes with the sleeve, RNY, and other various forms of WLS. Some work for some, some don't for others.
Each have risks and each have benefits. Just as I felt for myself, weigh the pro's and con's of each for you. Arm yourself with knowledge, facts, and make the choice you feel is best for you. Shop around for the surgeon that is best for you too. Some surgeons offer little information or support; others are magnificent! Some surgeons are nothing more than salesmen and want to push you into one surgery over another.
Just remember, not one single WLS is a magical quick fix and you can regain weight no matter which one you select. Surgery isn't the sole solution. Used properly, each is nothing more than a tool to assist you in losing weight and keeping it off. In the end, be 100% confident in your decision and stick to what the doc says... you'll do awesome!
