Oh and many places offer in house financing, worth looking into. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I went to a place that charged $100 per small area per session, but the laser they were using was not as good as some others. Generally at least 6 sessions is needed, about 6 weeks apart. It is unpleasant, a stinging sensation, but not terribly painful. It's also very quick, a session to do my entire face, side burns chin neck and upper lip ran about 15 minutes, then you can put a cold cloth on that helps calm the skin. You'll also smell the burning hair which smells awful but you know it's working! I'm going for a consult soon at ideal image, I'll update with pricing! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What are/were you looking forward to being able to do post-surgery?
tpasun replied to Maloneymommy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Crossing my legs, have never been able to do that comfortably as I have always been overweight. I live in a second floor apartment and dread walking up and down the stairs, I'm excited to not get winded and exhausted after very little activity. I'm sure I'll keep thinking of more! Any nurses out there with advise
tpasun replied to ladycathy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm getting sleeved July 28, I work in a smaller but very busy and very high acuity ER on nights. I've been open about my surgery, we are a very close knit group and I'm sure I'll get plenty of help with the heavy lifting, which fortunately there isn't too much of. I'm planning on 2-3 weeks off depending on how I'm feeling, I'm agency contract so I don't have PTO, but I have freedom to take off as much time as I want (provided I can afford it!) previous surgeon was very confident I could go back to full duty 2 weeks post RNY tho. So many awesome things here! I get sleeved in 59 days.... Looking forward to: No more condescending comments about my weight from family... Tho it is out of love, and they're supporting surgery So much shopping! Clothes and knee hi boots! Traveling more, not worrying about fitting in plane seats Doing things without worrying I'm over the weight limit, someone I think mentioned a horseback pack trip, those usually have an upper weight limit for the horses safety... Want to try parasailing, do some snorkeling I'm a nurse so I'm looking forward to being able to move easier and faster and have less pain in my back legs and feet Not being so damn tired all the time, sleep apnea resolving So many things!!! Thank you so much cervidae! You've given me hope that so much is gonna get better. I'm so excited for surgery but it's getting closer and I'm starting to get nervous. I'm on spironolactone for blood pressure and it's not helping with the facial hair, but I'm starting laser removal soon, it works amazingly and is worth every penny. The discoloration is all part of that metabolic syndrome that goes with insulin resistance and all that, it may clear up from what I've read. Frankly I'm kind of ok not having a period! Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What Has Been the Hardest Habit for You to Break?
tpasun replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm getting sleeved in july and am trying to figure out how to do my meals on a regular schedule. I'm an ER nurse and I work 3 nights a week, and I'm up during the day on my days off. It's hard as it is getting time to eat at work, I'm going to have to do some serious strategizing! Eating fast will probably be an issue, when I get a chance to eat at work I scarf it down because I don't now when I'll get another chance... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I take a few meds, blood pressure, depression... We're there any meds you were told not to take after surgery? I'm really just concerned about my celexA, I've ended up in the hospital after running out, I'd be ok with crushing it, I'm just curious if there meds that your surgeon said not to take... Thanks! I'm in exactly the same spot, 30, and never been with anyone seriously for more than a month or so. I totally feel like there HAS to be something wrong with me, and I'm pretty sure it's because I'm fat. I get told I'm pretty and beautiful by friends, I'm very outgoing and fun, and easily make friends, but nothing more. It's depressing and I'm pretty sure I'll be alone for life. Good to hear that I'm not alone feeling like this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
