  1. Hi all, 6 weeks post op and starting to have some real discomfort upper left quadrant. Kind of a tearing feeling. I believe this is the incision that they pull everything out through. Anyone else experience this?
  2. Good afternoon all, Prior to reading further, if you are going to judge me and tell me that it's my fault and that I don't have any self control...spare yourself the time typing and just move on. I had the Gastric Band procedure in August 2013. Did ok but that last year and a half just could not find the "sweet spot" and either it was too restrictive or not restrictive enough. After numerous discussions with my surgeon, we decided that the revision from band to sleeve was the way to go. In June 2016 my Gastric Band was removed, gave my stomach a couple months to recover and in August 2016 I went in for the Gastric Sleeve procedure. I find that there is very little restriction to the amount of food or liquids I can consume. I am absolutely a "stress" eater and many times (most times) I eat whether or not I'm hungry. I was under the impression that since my stomach was going to be 1/8th the original size, that I would have NO CHOICE and be unable to eat when full. That has not happened and I'm very disappointed. I don't know if I unintentionally stretched my stomach or what. Has anyone else have these issues? Many thanks!
  3. Next up....sleeve revision surgery. Hoping that the "third time is a charm."
  4. Basically the stomach stretched for one reason or another and since its larger, it's not restricting very well. A little more common than I thought. A lot has to do with the fact that I had a lapband previously.
  5. Hey all, a little update here. Was very frustrated about not feeling full. Went for an endoscopy and my surgeon determined that my stomach is "dilated" and is about 50% larger than it should be. Apparently this is somewhat common, about 10-15% of Lapland revisions to sleeves experience this. Now I need sleeve-revision surgery. Anyone else experience this? Perhaps three times a charm?
  6. Good morning! I could start with protein, rolled up slices of turkey or similar and you would think after a few slices I should feel "physically" full though I do not. Unfortunately, my poor eating habits don't stop me. Many times I do drink liquids shortly before or shortly after those seldomly at the same time. Prior to the surgery, a lot of people said it's tough to drink 64 ounces throughout an entire day. I love Water and there seems to be no limit to the amount that I can drink.
  7. The 2 months between the band removal and the sleeve I think I gained 25 lbs. following the sleeve I pretty much dropped that 25 lbs but that's about it. I was under the impression that when you have the sleeve procedure, your desire to eat is diminished due to some "transmitters" that send messages to your brain about hunger are removed. But also, the fact that the stomach is so much smaller they make it sound as if it's impossible to eat.
  8. Hello all, I'm about two months post op. Had band removed in June, ate like it was going out of style for two months until my VSG in August. Following the first few weeks of liquids, soft foods etc I found that I can eat and tolerate everything. Everything to the point that unless it's really bulky food like steak, I'm not really full. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of this surgery? I thought that I would be eating like a bird. I am so concerned that old habits never die. My cravings are still there and I think this is quite a problem. I know, therapy, therapy, therapy. Any other ideas? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. The disease of food addiction is the biggest problem. Those that have it, understand it. It's real and it's very powerful. My biggest challenge is to conquer this.
  10. Thanks both of you. I defineltly need to see a nutritionist again.
  11. A sleeve (no pun intended) of ritz crackers with cottage cheese, cream cheese etc. I figured I would be stuffed after just a few. Considerably more than I anticipated.
  12. I think these are the good problems to have. Best of luck to you.
  13. Hey all, Had my band removed June 20 and I'm having the sleeve procedure on August 17.....36 hours from now, but who's counting. I gained at least 25 lbs since the removal.....I can't be the only one, am I? To say that I've got a little shpilkes is an understatement. Any words of wisdom out there? 14. I have not found that I'm full either. It's very surreal since physically 80-90% of my stomach is gone you would think anything would fill you up.
  15. I was sleeved 8/17. I had asked my surgeon if yogurt or protein drinks were ok and he said yes.
  16. I'm a 49, I believe a "mans man" and I just bought myself a dozen jars of baby food. At least I got food for 2 month old. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. I had lap-band surgery about 30 months ago. Lost 50-60 lbs but at this point it has stopped working. After numerous adjustments, my surgeon suggested the sleeve. Anyone been down this road? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
