  1. I heard the same thing from my sister (who is a size 4 and doesn't excercise or eat right). Everyone is different and weight gain and loss is different for everyone. It's hard to get over - but just chalk it up to "they don't walk in your shoes". Do what's right for you!
  2. I'm in the same boat. I was banded 3/12 and had my first fill on 4/14. I've only lost 8 lbs and I don't seem to be losing. When you say you don't have restriction what is that? I can eat anything I want and although I'm still eating way less than before, I still feel like I can eat a healthy portion without issues (I try to really limit myself because I feel like that' what I'm supposed to do). Any advice?
  3. I was banded by Dr. Kirchenbaum on 3/12 and the surgery was simple, my recovery was a little harder than I expected; not a lot of pain, but I slept for about 3 days. I'm still on the fence about the money I spent, as I've not lost much weight. My first fill was on 4/14 (I have a 14cc band and he put in 6 cc's). I have only lost about 8 pounds since surgery and I'm not sure why I'm not losing more. I dont' know exactly how many calories I'm eating but I only eat about 1/4 of what I ate before, I'm drinking tons of Water and doing 2 to 3 Protein shakes per day (110 calories each). For you long timers, how long did it take before you really started losing weight?
  4. I've been reading the posts and I have a combination of a lot of issues. I was banded on 3/12 and had my first fill 4/14 (I have a 14cc band and recceived 6ccs). The first day I had food get stuck a little (not chewing and eating too fast), now I'm ok with that, and I do feel full - but after eating more than I should. I lost 10 lbs pre-op, 6 lbs right after surgery and have only lost 1lb 6 oz since. Can someone explain what "restriction" means. I don't think I have that.:rolleyes2:

    Hello from Connecticut

Good luck to you. I had my operation on 3/12 and am re-couping now. My insurance would not pay either, but I felt for my health this was the right thing to do. I had to do a high protien diet so that was easy (meat and veggies) it really wasn't as hard as I thought, I guess when your ready your ready. I'm in Colorado and will be thinking of you! Good luck!
