Ok, I lost the pound I gained on the first day of liquids plus a little more. Now I can go to pre-op appt without any worries. Asked the Hubs to hide the scale until surgery date of 9/6!

Someone asked about having a good comeback ready when someone tells you you're taking the easy way out - and I'm wondering, does this happen often? I am just not the type of person that makes comments about Other people's health choices - it's hard for me to wrap my head around. (Only a choice few people know that I'm having Bariatric surgery. My first appointment was 5/12 - my surgery is 9/6. If your process moves faster than that, you could always just tell them you want to Wait to have surgery until January. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I have only told 5 or 6 people, plus my husband. The people I have told have either had the surgery or are close with someone who has had the surgery (and my HR rep). I have not told anyone in my family yet (other than my husband). People at work know I will be out for surgery, but I have not volunteered the details. -

Hah! Love this! I figure my husband has loved me full and fluffy at almost 300lbs (and various other weights in between) I am guessing a little loose skin won't send him away. Thanks for the post. Needed to hear it today! And 1000 times this!!! -

Managed to gain a pound on my first day of liquids yesterday - I am blaming sodium. Planning on drinking tons of water today - I have my preop appt tomorrow with my surgeon and he will not be happy (and neither will I) if my weight is up!

I bought some of the unflavored unjury to add to applesauce and maybe broths. when I opened it I recoiled at the smell - I haven't mixed it in with anything yet. Not sure if I want to now that I have smelled it. (I am only on day 1 of liquids) -

I am super glad to hear this. A friend of mine (who had reflux before surgery) also had a hernia repaired and her reflux improved too. I hope this is the case for me. My doc told us that it gets worse for 30% of patients, and asked me to consider bypass. I told him I would take those odds - I hope I don't regret it. -

18 days until my surgery - it seems weird to say I can't wait to have surgery - wish I could fast forward to the recovery part.
