Hi I am Ele I am 56 and had GB on April 20th. After the surgey my right thigh was numb to the touch the skin but under that where the nerves are I have unbearable pain. The doctor said that it is nerve damage and sometimes happens after surgery. I am on Lyrica 3 times a day for it if I wasn't strong enough so my doctor put me on oxycodeine I hate taking the Oxy it makes me high. But my pain in my leg is horrid. Anyone else have this problem? I don't even pay attention now I'm worried. I don't eat a lot of anything 3 meals a day and if I eat a Jello it is a meal my stomach can't eat more. What is the Protein goal? We have gone out a few times I will order a cup of soup one without noodles or potatoes. I like tomato the most. I can never finish. When we go Mexican I order Beans. Or albondigas a Mexican meatball soup. After 6 weeks I can add salad. And chicken. I just finally finished a Protein drink I just eat that for Breakfast and lunch no problem. @@Renkoss That is exactly what I have going on it hurts so bad. I need to walk more but that just makes it worse. Mine is same leg and location. Surgeon put me on Lyrica three times a day. My doctor requires a break lose 25 pounds before surgery if you don't do it he won't do the surgery. Mine goes from 3 weeks to 6 weeks I scramble eggs with cottage cheese to make it soft and it's either that or you have to have soft boiled eggs I can have refried Beans Soups with low carbohydrates and no more than 10 grams of sugar I can have pureed cauliflower carrots stuff like that. I also could have thin deli meat. But it has to be real deli meat not the processed stuff. I can have applesauce with no sugar. And skinless fruit. No grapes. He doesn't want us to mashed potatoes or hot Cereal because there's a lot of carbs after 6 weeks we can add that what you have to to fill yourself up on Protein first. I can also have soy. I bought some soy chorizo and used it as a meat in a homade chili I made for the whole family they loved it. And of course Greek yogurt under 10 grams of sugar. Same with yogurt. And a half of a banana and only string cheese. Hope I helped my doctor gave me a menu. But remember every doctor is different. I did that today also and mine was also ice tea! We went out to dinner and I ordered tomato Soup the cup not bowl and a ice tea. I just forgot and used the straw took a big sip too. Ugh!! No I live in San Diego But a lot of insurance companies want to be sure that you really want to have the surgery. The seminars will help you learn about all the different surgeries. My doctor gave us a binder that we had to take to every class and every doctor appointment. They gave us handouts with diagrams and information about everything. I even had a test on the difference between gastric bypass and sleeve. It has menu's and it tells you the ups and downs. It also has calenders telling you when to add different Vitamins and when you can add foods when you have to get blood work and when you have an appointment. I have a great Dr and the whole bariatric team is just awesome. We have support groups as well as our own Internet group. And our doctor joins in too. I hope your experience will be as good as mine.
