Bariatric products v. Whole foods
BiggiSmalls replied to BiggiSmalls's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the responses. I was hoping for this response. I also did some research on whey powder, and it sounds like there are some good minimally processed choices out there. -

Thanks Jintycb That's really close to what I wanted to know. -
Bariatric products v. Whole foods

In my mind, whole foods = unprocessed or minimally processed. I want to get away from convenience foods, do more from scratch, make my dressing, etc. I want to veer away from preservatives, food coloring, msg, corn syrup, etc. I definitely want to get away from processed sugars and artificial sweeteners. -
Late June Sleeve Buddies?

I'm feeling more human today. Saturday was one sleeping blur. I was able to drink some chicken stock and Water, but I have a strong gag reflex and sense of taste is off. I'm doing pretty well all things considered. Sometimes, it's hard to believe that I've had it done. Congratulations Biggi! I'm right behind you. Tuesday (tomorrow). I have had a few people tell me their taste was off. I made tons of bone broth and froze it in the freezer in one ounce cubes so I can learn to sip through the day. Did they make you do a lot of walking? I was told I was going to have to take a walk every two hours in the hospital. Keep us updated on how you are doing. So happy for you! Well, last night I was trying to take my meds for nausea and poof. Before it could kick in I got sick. It was not comfortable. I thought I was doing pretty well, but not as well as i thought. -

How could I NOT look at that with the statement you posted. Any number of things, salacious or sweet, could have popped up. LOL -

Okay, I love miniature horses. In fact, there is a service Shetland pony in my area that wears little sneakers, BUT this represents me a little better. My family calls me a crocodile momma because I take care of my babies, but if someone tries to hurt them... https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fs-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com%2F736x%2Fd2%2F74%2Fbe%2Fd274beb2ed459af390ae1ed7039e139d.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinterest.com%2Fpin%2F467107792571972160%2F&docid=JunQPHPaMcy1wM&tbnid=l0nXFS-QDhVg2M%3A&w=305&h=221&hl=en-us&client=safari&bih=672&biw=1024&ved=0ahUKEwjIy4XA96LNAhUXb1IKHazOCUQQMwgcKAAwAA&iact=mrc&uact=8 -

Thanks for posting that. I'm on day 8 and we were thinking of taking the kids there this weekend. Perhaps we should go to the lake instead. -
15 months post op and right shoulder pain

It might be a good idea to talk to your doctor. I had gallbladder problems a few years back, and it sounds a lot like the problems I had before I got it removed. Good luck. -
Thanks!

I'm on day 7 out of 14 days pre-op. I think of food all the time, I think we just have to get through it. You can do it!

Two week liquid diet

I have to do Fortify BariEssentials because my doctor requires it. It includes the vitamins in the shake powder. I can't recommend them though. They have way too much artificial sweetener. I found out today I can have whey powder with 8oz. of low sodium twice a day rather than four shakes a day. All I can have is shakes, broth, sugar free jello, and sugar free Popsicles. I can have anything to drink that is not carbonated or has sugar in it for the most part. I'll get through it. After all, I have a lot to lose. -

I'm not a big hamburger lover, but I had to get dinner for my daughter. I watched her eat every bit of that hamburger. I started have images of food pop into my mind. I try not to think about it, but it's hard. I worry less about what it will be like after the surgery. Right now, I could eat anything, but after surgery I'll get full too fast. Good luck. -

My first three days were miserable, but I'm on day four and I'm doing so much better. You'll make it. I slept when I could, and I ate sugar free Jello. I feel like things got a lot easier today. -

I'm on day one of a two week liquid diet. I. HAVE. A. HEADACHE. unlike anything I have experienced in a long time. I already cheated by eating one slice of turkey. I need prayers and divine intervention to make it. Tomorrow will be better. Yes, tomorrow will be better, right? -
I just started my liquid diet. I have to be on it until June 17th. I'm going to imagine the gnawing feeling in my stomach is fat dissolving in acid. Yeah, that's what it is...

I have my VGS on June 17th. I start my liquid diet June 3rd. I would love to fast forward through the liquid diet, but I'll get through it one day at a time.
