They said it would be a tube going down my nose, into my stomach to look at structure and look for ulcers/problems. They said most people gag and have a not-so-great time with it. Sounds awful either way!

Hello! I am new here and this is my first post! I am in the processing of getting ready to have surgery...working on all of the medical clearance stuff obviously...I am scheduled for an endoscopy that goes down my nose and into my stomach on Monday. They said they do not do anything to medicate you so that you are sleepy/relaxed....nothing! Just spray some numbing stuff and stick it down there. Has anyone had this done? How was it? (HONESTLY!) I am scared!
