Being cold is getting old!
oscodagal replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thankful for this post. Live in Michigan and I have never experienced cold like this before! I only have two temperatures - either a hot flash or Freezing ALL of the time! Down 80 lbs ( sleeved on 5/10). Layers!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Do I tell or say nothing.
oscodagal replied to bossportsgal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 7 months out and have only told people I felt I wanted to know. It's not anyone's business and honestly, some people just cannot be happy for you because they are miserable. I didn't tell anyone at work either. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Never thought this was possible

You look awesome! And our brains are very powerful! Do what you're doing - take pictures and that way you can compare your body. I was sleeved on 5/10 and I have found that my mind hasn't caught up to my body. I've lost 65 lbs but sometimes I still see the same person in the mirror. I have 45 more pounds to go but I would imagine it stays challenging. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Meal delivery services
oscodagal replied to QueenOfTheTamazons's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We do Home Chef and LOVE it! We are a family of three and I'm the only one sleeved. We purchased the 3 meals a week for 2 and it's been fantastic. You can opt for high protein/low carb selections. Love the variety and not eating the same thing over and over. My 16 year old daughter has learned how to cook with this plan. Can't say enough great things about it! I was sleeved 5/10 at St John Providence by Dr Kerry Kole. He was awesome. I have three incisions and one through the belly button. I've lost 31 lbs (including my one week pre surgery diet weight loss). Overall down 40 lbs from my highest weight. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Try not to let it overwhelm you. Change is hard. Changing your entire life is even harder but it's about your mindset. It is do-able. And you will be fine!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Everything changed for me once I started using a straw at week 2. I'm now one month out. Getting my liquids in, on soft foods and heading back to work tomorrow. I walk 3 miles every day. You just have to find what works for you!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Surgery yesterday, random questions
oscodagal replied to EmilyJune's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Comgratulations! Take it slow! Stay on top of your pain. I was given liquid Vicodin so had no pills to swallow and wasn't directed to start back on Protein shakes until day 5. First 4 days were all clear liquids. If you can, walk. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Workout regimen-What's yours?
oscodagal replied to tiffanymarie6997's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 5/10 and walking is what I'm focused on. 40-50 minutes each day since I came home. After my 30 day check in - I plan to keep walking but incorporate biking, weight training and build to running once I have shed more weight and it's less intense on my knees. I moved to phase 3 today which is puréed food. I go back to work on June 5th and will be on soft foods until 8 weeks post-op...how are you guys doing with meal prep? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I was sleeved on 5/10 and will traveling to LA on 6/25. Our program calls for me to be on a soft diet until 8 weeks. So, no "treat days". Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How many ounces are you ACTUALLY eating?
oscodagal replied to Afrikanaaa's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I so needed to see this today! Just finished a 5 oz light Greek yogurt and the thought immediately in my head was - shouldn't that have been more difficult??! I was sleeved two weeks ago (5/10). I'm very focused on getting my Water and Protein in! Tomorrow I move to a phase 3 diet: puréed foods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I started walking on day 3. I was motivated by having insane gas pains. It really helped and during my post op follow up my surgeon said it has really helped with my healing! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Personal Questions for after surgery
oscodagal replied to losingtheselumps's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 5/10. I had terrible gas pains for the first 4 days. I was living on Gas X strips and they really helped me. I walked, walked and walked. The day I was home from the hospital (5/11) I was walking for 30 minutes and I'm already now up to an hour. I know it's helping with my healing. I haven't had any nausea or vomiting. 2. I didn't have any issues with constipation!! Thank goodness. Drink your fluids and follow the meal plan. 3. My surgeon says 4-6 weeks. That's a LONG time. Not sure we will make it. I wouldn't see an issue with oral. Just finding a comfortable position and not getting overzealous. 4. Agree with others - your taste changes. I cannot stand the smell of broth anymore. 5. Didn't have one. But the best thing they gave me was a binder. It wraps around your abdomen and a week later I'm still wearing it. Helps me feel supported. My surgeon told me today I don't have to wear it but I love it! It's my wubbie. 6. Relax. Listen to your body. As soon as they get you up in the hospital - walk it out. Stay on top of pain management. The first few days are the worst but it's all uphill from there!!l Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I've been walking every day for an hour since surgery. It's been a week. Will start my cardio and weight training when I'm given the green light. Walking has really helped me with healing and all that trapped gas!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
