My surgeon brought me pictures the night of my surgery. -
I'm may 4th

My surgeon says 3 meals, no snacks and pasta and rice are one of his recommended foods! From everything I have read this is unusual and I am planning to see a bariatric dietitian. He also advocates weightloss shakes post op rather than protein drinks but perhaps they are the same kind of thing?

So disappointed in myself.

You know what? You have just gained a tool to help you going forward. The next time you are really tempted to eat something you know you shouldn't remind yourself of how upset and guilty you felt. Then you will realise it's not worth it. You don't fail when you learn from your mistake! You've got this! -

I think it probably pretty normal to be thinking about food in your situation. The letter to yourself was a great idea. Best of luck. -
Breaking-up with you, food. It's not you, it's me.

His comments may be from ignorance, or they may be from fear, they could be from alot of things. Only you know the dynamic in your relationship. Having said that when you made the decision to have wls you made the decision to start valuing yourself in a way that you might not have previously. Keep valuing yourself in all your decisions about YOU and you can't go wrong. You deserve support and if you feel deep down that his interests are being put before your health you might have to value yourself enough to go it alone. -
You are doing a great job, makes me hopeful for when I'm finally on the other side.

I'm not sure about putting napkins on laps and sitting in a booth, I suppose I could tuck a napkin under my fat not that it would serve it's purpose and some people just can't fit in a booth. -
Do You Consider Children (Or Future Children) When Considering Weight Loss Surgery?
Pondlife replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have an 8 year old and a 4 year old and they are the driving motivation in having surgery. They simple fact is that they deserve a better mother, a mother who doesn't have to put her size ahead of their childhoods. It breaks my heart everytime they want to do something and my weight prevents it. I won't do that to them any more. They deserve the best of me. -
A friend of mine told me her chiropractor who didn't know she'd had the sleeve almost had a heart attack when they did X-rays because he didn't know what the staples were. So they definitely show up on X-ray.

Just incredible, well done to you! -
I read somewhere that the only taste of success some people get is the bite they take out of you. Seems like your success is tasting pretty bitter in some ones mouth. Don't let this jealous person steal your groove. You earned it.
