Completely normal.actually it would be strange if you didn't stall at this point.you wereloaded with normal saline to keep you hydrated in the hospital.your swollen and retaining fluids inside still.i wouldnt weigh until a month post op for those reasons.when your stall breaks you may lose a pound a day for two weeks and stall again or lose three pounds stall a week later lose a couple more pounds.i never lost consistently or lost daily.

Insurance coverage but considering Mexico. Thoughts?
Thick2Thin2016 replied to fatgirlfreed's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went straight to Mexico but a lot of it was the type of insurance I could get through my employer was just as expensive but very restrictive.you could only get the surgery after 6 months of supervised weight loss and psych eval.both had to be done 250 miles away. That didn't include all the other test involved. If that weren't enough the deductable would be 4800.i knew people that went that route.they had complications.everyone who went to Mexico was fine.i asked the people who did it in USA and they felt that if they would have considered Mexico instead of discounting immediately -
You probably would be better off with some friends that are more mature in age and mentality than the typical college student. Perhaps there is a group at school focused on your interest such as politics, career etc and not on the college lifestyle of parties and other shallow endeavors

I measured how much my belly hang over.lol -
Yes, I think it's common for people to try to be a feeder even if they weren't before. You have to put your foot down right away or you'll send a mixed message.only you can be in charge of what to eat.

Not losing enough
Thick2Thin2016 replied to ML573663's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might be a slow loser .I only lost 24 pounds my first month. But I have lost weight every month.im down 100 lbs and had the same fears that I wouldnt lose the weight.at this point I think my goal was too conservative and think I could easily lose more weight. By the year mark.good luck and dont sweat it. -
There is no better time to take care of yourself. There will be difficult days but it is so worth it.Youll wonder why you didn't do it sooner!

Why can't I get the support I need[emoji17]
Thick2Thin2016 replied to janedoe92's topic in Rants & Raves
My family wasn't completely against the surgery at first. And they were not impressed the first couple months but they are certainly believers now that I'm smaller than they ever seen me and no longer unhealthy. -
Undecided on what to do
Thick2Thin2016 replied to bigsexy28sc's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The best advice we all can give you is to do your research. This is not the easy way to lose weight but it can help.I imagine at your weight now you are overwhelmed. If you decide this is right for you you need to be 100 percent in.It will change you.If you are using food to comfort you that will be gone.It is not any fun to give up all your vices and crutches and deal with what is bothering you.You will trade your habits for a new life.It is worth it.But only you can decide if this is the right time or process for you. -
How many calories per day for a man who is 2 weeks post op?
Thick2Thin2016 replied to RussT's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I don't believe that before you hit maintenance that you need to count calories. The main goal is to hit the higher limits of protein and water consumption.By doing that you almost can't blow the diet unless you are eating high carbs or sugar. -
Scheduled for January! Dr Cabrera, anyone?
Thick2Thin2016 replied to darstvader's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I used Dr. Cabrera. I have nothing bad at all to say about my experience! He and the entire team were great. At this point I have went from 267 pre-op to 159 as of today.I think Cabrera's pts lose slower than some pts but it is better in the long run.I was disappointed in the beginning I only lost 24 pounds the first month but I am still losing so I can't complain.I fully expect to be below goal weight at my anniversary. At this point I am smaller than I have been in twenty years. Also,I look and feel great. I wish you all the best and if you have any questions feel free to ask. -

How much did your weight loss surgery in Mexico cost, total?
Thick2Thin2016 replied to WitchySar's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You can send them an email to get started.I had a popular date picked so I started early.for me I paid my deposit on Jan 9 and surgery date was Mar 17.I am sure I could have gotten an earlier date if I needed it.You have to called to give financial info (credit card or debit) but the call is short. They email a copy of the transaction.for MBC pts. You stay at Hyatt of Tj.it is nice and feels very safe. This was my first time out of the country. They took care of everything.I was scared for nothing. -
