There is no person on this earth that knows me that can say I have had it easy or that I took the easy way out.I am so truly amazed by how successful my wls education campaign has been at work and with friends.there were a few people at work that had it done and they got so much shade.I think with myself being the biggest they knew to not even go there. Now they go in and talk to bariatric patients about qualifying for WLS even when the Dr. is anxious about the conversation.

14 hrs after surgery, in hospital with crazy gas pain.
Thick2Thin2016 replied to Kenny the Cleaner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was in the hospital I would lay flat in the hospital and let the bubbles out (burpp) then roll the bed back up in the sitting position. -

Well hot damn that would motivate anyone! Keep up the good work! -
Today was amazing.I went shopping for clothes and for the first time in my life I can put on a small top and size 8 pants. I went from 3x top and 32 pants with a weight loss of 178. If this is a dream don't wake me up!

It depends on how big the pocket of pus is. They might need to debride it(scrape it out) or drain it.if it is small they will leave it.youll problably get IV antibiotics

7 months post op....best decision ever made
Thick2Thin2016 replied to vikkii19's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Fabulous job! You are doing great. keep up the good work and your going to be amazed how great you feel. -
Omg....OK here is the thing.complications can happen.Deaths are rare.very rare, they usually are the result of anaesthesia, blood clots or leaks.if your dr knows what he is doing and you do what you are supposed to do the chances of complications are reduced even more.everyone I know that have had the surgery are alive. Everyone that I have known that was non-compliant in general has passed away from complications from non was surgeries and illness. How many times have you seen a story where the person shouldn't be alive and they survived and yet perfectly healthy looking people just slump over dead without even a hint they are sick.If it's your time, its your time.

Does anyone regret surgery
Thick2Thin2016 replied to queenbee88's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think almost everyone regrets it in some form or fashion the first month or two.your either sore, losing slow and can't see progress exhausted for lack of calories or sick from the poisons in your fat melting. After some of those issues start to resolve coping becomes so much easier. Its not long that it just becomes your new reality and the way everyone else eats seems strange. Do you need to be obsessed to be successful?
Thick2Thin2016 replied to Little Green's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Consistency not obsession will help you be successful.get your water, protein and exercise in everyday. If exercise is easy push harder try something different. If you want to try new food ask yourself if it fits your plan,if it doesn't ask yourself why you are thinking about eating it. Special occasions are one meal/one time things not a day or week long. -

To any vets who had never been thin before GS
Thick2Thin2016 replied to White Sale's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not a vet but I'm close to goal.I am 147 today.my lowest weight as an adult was 180ish.No one knows me at this size.my highest weight was 324.Iwish I was invisible at that weight, but unfortunately I attracted an amazing amount of contempt from society.perfect strangers would scream at me from their cars obscenities and call me pig, cow, buhda.Men would tell their so's within my earshot that if they got fat like me they would dump them.People would look at everything I put in my shopping cart. Now I have a level of anonymity that I have never had.People treat me with respect.Men open doors for me.I had to learn to graciously accept compliments.....It is so hard.I have a So,but I get jealousy from him now. I am getting comfortable in my own skin but it takes time.Ive never known a time where people didn't try to define me by my weight. -

Thick2Thin2016 replied to TheRevisionedVagabond's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

What type of exercise in first month or two?
Thick2Thin2016 replied to ARNOLDSMB's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Walk.if walking becomes easy now run/walk or walk up hills.but honestly I think just walking is a really good start in the beginning of your weightloss -
I Do not have personal experience with that but, if you have been on antibiotics recently you may have been exposed to C diff and you will want to get that treated.
