Best friend totally unsupportive.

I had someone like that in my life, key word is HAD. I walked away, after surgery I made the choice to surround myself with positive people, not everyone knows that I had surgery but every one that I surround myself with is positive. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Red Light Therapy is helping with my scars and most of my stretch marks are pretty hard to see. It can really help with sagging skin. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Desert Sun in Western Washington, many tanning salons and fitness places has it. I absolutely love it, I feel better knowing that this has been shown to help with the scars and do a little shrinking. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What if my PCP doesn't support this?
Daisy Day replied to Detroit_25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Explain why you need it, list the benefits, explain how your weight effects your daily life. Like my osteoarthritis caused a lot of pain and effected my relationship with my children because I couldn't keep up with them, sleep was effected because of the pain and I was depressed because I could be the best mom I could due to my knees and ankles. Make your "presentation" sincere and personal, that will help you out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Thank You, I'm thinking of starting it now before my sag gets really bad, the place near my home has a stand up and lay down beds, they also do tans, and wraps. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App A red bed is a Red Light Therapy bed Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Has anyone had any experience with Red Light Therapy? I was told that it helps with collagen production to tighten and firm skin, I'm wondering if it really works or if anyone has had any experience with it before I go dropping money on it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have an appointment to get my hair cut and bleached to look fuller, I take a huge amount of Biotin and I use the Biotin shampoo but my hair is starting to fall out. Sometimes lighter hair colors and shorter hair can help to hide the loss. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What type of exercise in first month or two?
Daisy Day replied to ARNOLDSMB's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I started physical therapy at 3 weeks, they have given me my exercise regimen, I do both aquatic workouts as well as dry workouts. I love my recumbent bike when it is too cold to be outside. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I get frustrated when people do the whole "I'm 4 weeks out and down 40 pounds from my highest weight" um, then you find out that they have only lost 18 since surgery. It's like there is some kind of weird race going on where who ever can brag the biggest numbers is the winner. Last time I checked I wasn't a contestant on the Biggest Loser! Every one should be proud that they just took the step to do this and be healthy, WLS is not easy and we should be encouraging each other with reality. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Complications from advancing diet too soon
Daisy Day replied to Frenchie1977's topic in Rants & Raves
I had Bariatric Advantage broccoli soup right after surgery, actually when I was still in the hospital I was given strained clam chowder and sugar free chocolate pudding. My first 2 weeks I ate so much of the Bariatric Protein Soups that the thought of them makes me gag. Every patient leaves the hospital with a list of what they can and cannot eat, we are mostly all adults, we all know the risks and have heard the horror stories. If someone wants to die like Mama Cass by chocking on a ham sandwich then it is their own fault that they became a casualty. I'm not trying to sound cold but some peeps need to just grow up. I take Sugar Bear hair Vitamins and I use Biotin shampoo and conditioner. I'm hoping to not lose much hair, if it really starts falling out then I will "Pixie" it and dye it a nice shade of blond to hide the thinning. My hair was super curly until I went threw chemo a few years back, now it is fairly flat, I hope I get something in between. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had a cath and it was inserted after I was sedated and I don't remember it being removed. Right after surgery I was so out of it and it was safer for me to have a cath then for me to walk to the bathroom. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
