  1. In a bunch of products for post-op? Everything is sealed and within date. I have calcium chews and multivitamin chews in sealed canisters/bags, high protein shakes, gelatin, soups, oatmeal... ALL bariatric brands. Please contact me directly for more info. I bought a lot post-surgery during my recovery and then moved shortly after and I didn't even realize how much I had until now (a year post-op)... I was unable to get through it all and would love to see it go to a good home. Ideally I'd like to just have it as one big package and we can negotiate out the price. You will NOT find these products online for a quarter of the price. Email: brookebonic@gmail.com Will ship via USPS. Serious inquiries only. I'll list out the inventory for anyone interested and send photos to anyone interested once I'm able to. Payment via Venmo or PayPal only and you must pay for shipping prior to shipment as well.
  2. I'm officially one year and one week out from my surgery date. I can't believe it. I've lost 140 lbs from my highest weight and I'm literally stunned at how the weight has just fallen off. Some people do not even recognize me because of this. Sometimes I do not even recognize myself because I feel like I will always be the "chubby" girl I've been since childhood. I've tried to explain this to some people but most don't understand... and I don't expect them to. I have always known this strong, amazing, resilient person was here, but didn't always know my potential to be such, because I was too busy hiding, unfortunately, but most likely, from myself. The first few months post-surgery were extremely difficult, but I feel I've gotten more accustomed to my new lifestyle now and I feel wonderful now. Just wanted to share... I also wanted to ask... How many of you have lost a similar amount of weight within the first year or so? I asked my surgeon if it was typical to lose so much for someone my size and age, but I didn't really get an answer. He just told me I should be extremely proud of my progress... which I am! (I started at 325, I'm 5'11 and 25 years old) Cheers, y'all!!! Whether you're drinking a protein shake, water, or anything else... Pictured is me at my surgery date last year on June 21, 2016 and May 31, 2017... [emoji12]

    Hungry feeling all the time!

I feel the same exact way and I was sleeved the day after you. I have been DREAMING of scrambled eggs and my husband made pancakes for himself for dinner THE DAY I GOT HOME! So now I just really want pancakes and even a few bites of scrambled eggs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Does anyone own a Fitbit?

I love the Fitbit Blaze because not only does it track steps, heart rate, sleep, etc., but you can also use it to track your workouts. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I had a drain. I think all of the patients who have the surgery in the hospital I was in get it. I only had it for the two nights I stayed in the hospital and they took it out. There was a lot of Fluid in it. I'm not sure where that fluid would go for people who don't get it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    5 Days Post-Op

I had mine on the 21st and feel the same way about the dryness the day of surgery! My throat was pretty sore, too, but all of that basically went away when I could start drinking. I've found that I have a lot more trouble with plain Water than I do with the sugar free Powerade or (homemade!!) chicken broth. The best of all is sugar-free ice pops. I could probably annihilate way too many of them for my own good. I drank over 100 oz. of water daily pre-surgery so it's hard not being able to drink as much. I agree that the Protein shakes taste much sweeter. Are you drinking 3 a day? I've only been doing 1 a day (yesterday and today) since I got home. I'll probably try to have more tomorrow. 9. What are your experiences? I've gotten really sick taking regular Vitamins on an empty stomach before so I'm a little nervous about taking the chewables with just Jello, broth, ice pops, and Protein shakes in my stomach. Any thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. Hi, everyone! My sleeve surgery is scheduled for Tuesday bright and early and I'm currently on a pre-surgical diet for the remainder of the week (unsweetened applesauce, sugar free pudding/jello, Protein shakes, vegetables, fat free yogurt - no fats and barely any "real" chewing... I can replace 2 shakes a day with 4 egg whites or 3 oz chicken/fish). I feel guilty for not following more of the outlined suggestions prior to this week but I've been trying my hardest to stick to this week's at least. This entire thing has been a super quick process (like 2 months) for me so I haven't had as much time as others to begin a strict eating/exercise plan and stick to it for long. I've done it in the past but obviously haven't gotten the results or maintenance I want. I'm still more or less at my heaviest weight. Just curious, what are your favorite Proteins for pre/post WLS? I have been drinking Protein Shakes for years and I've tried the fusion Meal Replacements and Syntrax nectars specifically on this journey. Anything else you like? I want to order more prior to my surgery date. Also, what do you recommend bringing to the hospital with you? I'll be there for two nights. ANNNDDDD what's important to already have at home for when you get back from surgery? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal Appn
