  1. I've been working out on my elliptical, is walking better since I'm VSG patient? I agree sleep is a necessity. Sent from my SGH-M819N using the BariatricPal App
  2. Thank you for responding so quickly, I'll work harder at getting in the fluids & protein, getting in more calories will be really tough since I fill up so quickly and only eat about 3-4x a day. Sent from my SGH-M819N using the BariatricPal App
  3. I had surgery on 5/3/16 & sadly, I haven't been losing weight since my surgery. It will be week 3 come Tuesday 5/24. And I'm starting to think my surgery was a failure in some way. My stats: 5'3" 26yrs old Starting weight 225 Surgery weight 208 5/4 Day after surgery 200 (I lost 8 pounds overnight) Current weight 198 From 5/4 till now (5/19) I've only lost 2 pounds(which happened after 10 days). I know everyone's body is different, but it seems impossible for me to not lose weight after surgery. I was expecting to lose weight each week, and then hit the 3 week stall like most people talk about. But instead I'm stalling the entire first 3 weeks. I'm eating about 300-450 calories a day. I'm just not hungry and I stop eating when I'm full. I'm having trouble getting in my 60-80g of Protein and I tend to get in 48-52 oz of fluids so I know I'm under. I'm trying to increase my protein & Fluid intake but it is difficult. Could this be why I'm not losing weight? Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you! Sleeved 5/4...

No you aren't alone. Your story is just like mine. Started at 225 then lost 17 pounds on the 2 week pre-opt diet. 208 day of surgery on 5/3 then the day after surgery 5/4 i was down to 200. Then i didn't lose anything till two days ago so far it's been a lost of 2 pounds. I hope it will continue at this rate of a pound a day. But I was at this stall for 10 days and frantically searching sites to see why I wasn't losing. My surgeon says I'm just fine & that some people don't lose weight at first but then their body's start dropping weight quickly. But i was expecting anywhere between .5-1 pound lost a day right after surgery. I'm hoping the stall is over for a while so i can hit a goal of 25 pounds down in the first month. Best of luck to you! Post op liquid intake

Had my surgery on 5/3, day after I could drink without getting full, every once and a while I would get a burp or tight pain in my stomach kinda felt like a hunger pain. But all fluids would stay down. Sent from my SGH-M819N using the BariatricPal App

    Self Payers in Florida

I did the self pay option for $10,500.00 Dr Beltre is an experienced surgeon. He's been doing this for over 10 years. You have to qualify for outpatient procedure, mainly be low risk. I was out patient and everything went just fine, 5'2 starting weight 225, surgery weight 208, 3 days post op 200. You are discharged with instructions and you are given Dr Beltre's number if you have any questions or concerns. I too was concerned about outpatient since most people mention hospital stays but I did my research found it's not a wrong way of doing it. Best of luck to you!
