How easy is it to stretch your pouch?

Wow, your weight loss is fantastic. I am a size 24 now and hopefully having surgery next March. I have to wait due to insurance issues. You give me hope :smile2:

    Pre-surgery process; I'm so discouraged.

Well, I've just begun my journey too and I'm throughly disgusted with the company I work for and our insurance coverage. I've talked with one lady at work who had bypass 2 years ago with much success. She said she finally gave up and paid 100% of the surgery just to get it done. Our insurance is BC/BS but it will only pay 5 thous due to my employer's mandated restrictions on WLS. My friend said they make you go through test after test after test only to ask for more tests until they wear you down and you give up. To make matters worse one elder at work thinks this is taking the easy way out laughed at me when she heard us talking about this matter (we thought) privately in the restroom. I am more determined than ever but had to vent. Has anyone's insurance company done this to you? What did you do? Now my family is saying maybe I should try Jenny or Nutrasystem just to lose the weight. geez, they don't get it either. My whole life has been up and down weight wise. I'm sick of this life.

    Time Off Work????

Way to go. Sounds like you are doing great. I am not banded yet and have to wait until March next year. This was an inspiration to me. Keep us informed of your progress

    Help...

I KNOW there are a lot of peeps out here who felt the same way you do and some probably still do. You have definitely made a step in the right direction. We are here for you, we know how you feel because we have been there too. There is much support here so don't lose hope and we are your buddies.
  8. They cancelled the April seminar. How are you doing now BooBar? Looks like I'm going to have to pay more out of pocket than I expected due to unforeseen circumstances. Any success with the fill schedule BooBar?
  9. I sure will let you know. A friend of mine knows some women who have been to these dr's and they love them. We are going to a seminar in April and I want to have the surgery early next year. Can't have it before due to medical spending is gone this year. Believe me, this isn't the only reason but these dr's. don't charge as much which makes it available to me. I couldn't have the surgery if it were any more and I need this to keep me from getting sicker.
  10. I need to know if anyone has gone to Tulsa Ok Surgical weight control to get lap band and experience with them? considering them next January. Thanks, Vicky
  11. Hey peeps, I am seriously thinking about going to this clinic. I need to know if anyone has gone to them and talk about their experience with them. they are cheaper than Little Rock and Springdale. Since my insurance pays only 5K total I am basically self pay. Tulsa dr's charge 13,900. which is good for me.

Arkansas- Dr. Baker or Dr Gibbs

I live closer to Tulsa so I am strongly considering going to Dr.Luis Gorospe, M.D.. Center for Surgical Weight Control Tulsa, OK. anyone gone there? They charge $13,900 but no dr. office visits are included. wonder what they cost? going to seminar on april 12, 2008 at Radisson Hotel 8am. I have to get this done. I've lost and gained weight to the point that I am sick of it.
