Life is too short to have fks to give regarding other people's opinions of you. Frighteningly too short and getting shorter every day. The less time you have, the less you care about what other's think. People will get over it or they will not-neither has a darn thing to do with you! When I got a divorce and stepped out, by God, I didn't have time to wait on them all to catch up! Same with WLS I suppose. Don't care what other's think. My give a fk cup is empty! When people talk, they get bored and move on quickly. Bi can be a 'bad word" and growing up, lesbian was the a dirty word. I spent WAYY too much time thinking about *The Label*. Gawd, the label?? Really? I spent more time worrying about what some girl would think about my butt size, than exploring my ever-present desires. I honestly thought that lesbians would be more judgy about my body and that I wouldn't be able to distract them with sex. Hahahahaha. I know what I think when I see a naked girl, and it isn't "her butt is fat!", more along the lines of, "Yea! Boobs and I am about to have sex!". I would have saved SO much time if I had given up on the 'supposed to's' and the labels. To do it over again and really, really not GAF I would be almost an unstoppable force. My "label" is gay or queer or I simply say, "I only date women", if others address me as lesbian or whatever, I take it, no worries. To say Lesbian to me, negates the 13 year relationship I had with my my exH, it negates the small, small possibility that I might one day date a man again. Not saying I was only with him during our marriage, I am not saying I was totally happy with him and did not think about other women, but we did have a life, a child and I am not going to erase that. But, to do it again. I would go for it earlier, much earlier. Been stronger for change in my life faster. Pull the bandaid off. Feeling kinda pervy for being SO attracted to women, as I am noticing the ones' the age I SHOULD have gotten a divorce and here I am a bit older.. Ha.

Good! I struggled with labels over and over-until I realized I didn't have to be "gay/straight/bi". Life is better when you are honest with yourself (the easiest to lie to, right?)-not without struggle of course.. Good luck on ALL your journey's and I support you.

I have not had surgery yet, struggling with not gaining weight between NUT appointments. **When** I lose weight, it is generally during extreme activity or low carbs. I'd not lose on 75 grams a day. When I do eat oatmeal I eat the slow cook Quaker brand. No instant stuff at all. And I usually add nuts like pecans and apple pieces and cinnamon, cloves, exedra. So the sugar in my oatmeal was coming from the fruit and I figured with the nuts in the apples it is a slower hit carb. Maybe eat oatmeal like mine and a boiled egg on the side. I did not have to take a pee test, nor a blood test in the end, so it was my word. It has been years long struggle with this in one way or another. I didn't know these women, and if they wanted a pee test, then do it BEFORE you have me get undressed and stick a IV in my arm (same thing happened just a few months ago when I had knee surgery. No pee test, my word.)..and in between this and that, am OBGYN-I locked him down quick with The Shunning, LOL...The Outing.. -
No, really, I can assure you I am not pregnant!
Anna Nim replied to Anna Nim's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No it is not. THAT is what a waiver is for! THAT covers the hospital, just like when I had a mammogram-they had a waiver that said, "I certify I am not pregnant. Because....(with a list of options, including Same Sex Partner). I *could* have had no clue or, (seriously?) *lie* before surgery, but note: They ended up taking My Word. No blood, no urine.. Clearly there is a measure of common sense. 46 year old semi-menopausal queer woman..yep. Very much not pregnant. I assume you are a male and have never had the fun of HAVING to out yourself over and over and over and over again every time you see most doctors. OBYNs, ANY surgical or dental procedure, etc. This also compounded over birth control questions At Every Annual Exam for decades. "What method of birth control do you use". "How long since your last menstrual period." "Why do you not need birth control-what method do you use?" "Are you sexually active?" On and on. This fun goes far, far beyond simple STD testing. Only made more painful after years of infertility treatments, cause, I would (have) loved NOTHING more in this world to have actually had a positive on a pregnancy test. -

I wrote WSM..I meant to say..WSW (women who sleep with other women)..Duh! But, yeah..plastic or spit babies only? After years of infertility being given the "are you pregnant" question makes me very sad. I always cry when I go to the doctor's office, any doctor anyway after all of that.. -

SO insulting!!!! Austin is pretty open, so little worry. I did not have to take a test, my word seemed to be enough (which I would think is not best practice...). To me, a waiver or blood/urine test is gold (I vote waiver). Two days ahead of time pregnancy test is for their benefit, not yours, cause if you are, then they are not all waiting for you. Still, when you know you are not...you are not! Sperm + Egg in a Q ueer, infertile, semi-menopausal woman is Just Not Going To Happen! -
GAINED 5 lbs since my 1st Nut Appointment. WTF. Going back to work (SPED teacher) & still recovering from ACL surgery doesn't help a damn bit..

Anyone losing too much weight in your face? I am!
Anna Nim replied to sleeverv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing I've noticed, is when you lose a lot of weight no matter what way there's a point where your face looks a little overly lean. I guess it like falls off their first? But, later when your weight stabilizes or you regain like 3 pounds it seems to fill out just fine. I've seen it again and again on my own Cycles up and down. So maybe give it some more time. Also, I'm not sure how long you had the extra weight on your body. But, often when we're older we lose the weight it shows what was underneath it. None of that's a bad thing it just is. Good luck! Energy level has not improved to the level it once was!
Anna Nim replied to sleever54's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I give this advice a lot everyone. But have you tried taking magnesium. Not magnesium citrate not magnesium oxide. But magnesium glutamate or magnesium orate. Any Vitamin shop will sell it. I regularly take about two hundred percent of daily value of that. Stress.sucks out magnesium. Surgery is stressful on your body. So is life. My greatest sin is when I feel better I stopped taking magnesium and then I cycle all over again. Magnesium helps with anxiety depression energy and a host of other things. If you take a little too much until your body gets used to it it's just going to come out in your poop. I also take Vitamin D B12 and so late. That cluster of Vitamins seem to all be really good friends. And help each other work. Plus they're very cheap. I have also added on and TMG. The TMC seems to help with depression as well. The Magnesium is the thing that helps me the most. It's not so much that have more energy with it it's just that I feel worse without it. Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App -

Someone here said they would tell people that you are following your doctor's orders exactly. Low carbs high Protein exercise... If you had a hernia repair during your sleeve that would be a bonus because you could tell the truth about the hernia surgery... Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App -

The attorney suggestion is for malpractice. While there is a complication rate and you signed papers it doesn't exempt them from doing things wrong. And with all for you having such serious issues from the same surgical team means that maybe they're doing things too rushed. You may have a case which then get help financially make up for some of the time off of work. No, you're right. You can not change it now. SO-- What's the plan for the "Fantastic Four"? Together you have a wonderful opportunity to join together and adapt your lives to your sleeves. Let your sleeves work for you. Learn to listen to it---respect it and your sleeve will guide you to a healthier life. I fought mine for 4years. Finally, I have "made up" with my sleeve and we have become a team worth reckoning with. You can't change "it", so you have to change "yourself". Once you do that, you will not only healthier, but also more content within your own body. That's a win/win anyway you look at it. Take care of yourself. Be kind. "Fantastic Four"----I like that! Good thing you work from home. Imagine the environment if you worked in that office day in and day out. Sometimes it's better to leave that job. Tell me have cancer. Tell me you were so poor you're eating Ramen day in day out. Actually, smile and tell them that you're having high Protein low carb meals and doing yoga 3 times a week and you're just amazed that you finally found the key to lose weight. And then smile and walk away. What tell him to f****** mind their own business ignore them. I've got to the point like that I have no f**** left to give. And unfortunately were going to school so I got to keep my mouth shut but inside I'm flipping everyone off LOL Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App

Maybe the next time you go in, insist on being admitted. Maybe they can put you in a rehab place for a few weeks. I don't have any other advice, except to let them know how bad it is for you at home.. Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App
