To be honest, I don't actually have the physical strength to sit in A & E just now. I have to be back at the hospital wednesday night at 7:30 pm ( I have no idea how I will do that) for a repeat CT scan to see what the abscess is doing. As I will be there already, I may just hold out until after the scan then go to A&E to ask for help for my legs. I haven't slept more than an hour at a time in days, still not getting many calories in. I am simply exhausted, completely done in. I would pay someone to see me privately if I could figure out how. I was mobile on the ward. When I was receiving blood thinning injections, I didn't have the leg pains. When I was on IV antibiotics, IV fluids and pain relief on the ward, I improved. But with each complication and with lack of food, I continue to deteriorate and become weaker. Being in patient here on the NHS increases my chances of developing MRSA, C dif etc and there is no real nutrition support via bariatric meals on the ward. It's one size fits all. I also was given a near fatal dose of cyclizine straight into my vein on the ward, plus had two asthma attacks due to leaving my inhaler at home. So I am doing all I can to stay home but am at a loss on how to improve this circulation issue on my own. The compression stockings aren't helping. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have been posting about how bad things have been hoping someone could give me hope of recovery. I have now been awake 72 hours with leg pain. I have very poor mobility and everytime I drop to sleep my blood just seems to stop flowing into my legs. I have to stand up to stop the pain but can't stand up 24/7. Thank you so much. My situation feels so much more about survival, healing and getting back on my feet, than weightloss. I had my surgery 31st May and now am only 28lbs overweight. So I do feel in an awkward position here. I do need support, prayer and any help there is here. Things are just so different here in the UK on the NHS. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I am in Yorkshire in the UK. I do speak to prayer partners on the telephone. No, there is no medical staff that could come out so I am taking taxis to my hospital appts and tests. As long as my blood tests remain decent, my bariatric team have decided that I am simply a slow recoverer. That scares me as I do have a mass behind my belly button and my stomach muscles are rigid anytime I try and stand up. Of course, everytime they touch me, they insist that I lie down, so they never actually feel the problem. Now they have decided my gallbladder has to come out, they are blaming all things on this too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

That is so kind, thank you all. I am bedbound now so this forum and my phone friends are mostly all of my support. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Yes, I also did two years of planning and research. All of my meal plans, Protein, Vitamins etc are of no use as my body can't tolerate any of it right now. All my pre op planning meant nothing. I spend a fortune on taxis everywhere, needs while in hospital, trying all different foods, liquids etc and having to have everything delivered. I have been housebound now since May. Research and planning doesn't always mean success. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No one has told me why I developed an abscess. A friend of mine who had the same surgery at the same place is gravely ill in hospital with an abscess on her spleen. Neither of our abscesses can be drained due to their dangerous positions. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
All I can do is let them run the tests this week and pray they come up with a competent plan for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I search out hope from others who have had problems like me. If it weren't for the support I find here, some days would be almost unbearable. Seeing that others go through complications and make it really helps me. I no longer care about losing weight, I just want to survive, become well and get back on my feet. food revulsion occurs when the thought of taking in food literally feels repulsive. Not the same as anorexia but the effect is the same. I have developed an abdominal abscess, was given a near fatal dose of cyclizine, have been in and out of hospital on IV antibiotics then oral ones which has led to rapid weight loss, now gallbladder issues. Had several CT scans, back in Weds for another one. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

It's not about food for me. I don't care if I ever eat again except for nutrition. My prognosis is of a long 6 months plus recovery. That does get me down. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
My bariatric team don't actually know what more to do. Other than diagnostic tests, they say it's "a mystery" to them. Didn't make me feel better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Wish I had researched more about what "could" happen. Everything bad that could happen to me post op has and I am looking at around a year to recover. I didn't know about "food revulsion" which can lead to malnutrition, didn't know about how many have to lose their gallbladder, lactose intolerance, abscesses after surgery etc. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Brand New- Why is it so hard to find UK based info?
GinaCampbell replied to Vicksta's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am in Doncaster and my surgery has been a nightmare. Several of my NHS group are also in and out of hospital with dreadful complications. I wonder if I had gone private would things have been different. Six weeks out, I am dreadfully ill and facing more surgery and more time in hospital. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
