  1. This is fantastic!! You are definitely not a failure or a quitter for making a decision that will change your life for the better. I hope that everything goes well!

    3 mo out

I was the exact same way. I only wish I would've done it sooner. I'm glad you found something that works for you, it sounds like it really does! Thank you so much!
  3. Ah that is great and so exciting!! Congrats!

Wow that is great!! Awesome job! Keep pushing through and good luck with those 20 pounds! It sounds like you definitely have the determination to do it!
  5. I made the same mistake at the beginning too. I was so ready to get back into exercise but that early on wasn't such a great idea on my part. It's better to just take your time and heal. Glad you're doing okay now and good luck!

    2 days post op

I know it's really hard to believe this right now, but everything will be okay! The first few days are awful, but everything will get a lot easier within the next few days. I know that when I had it done, the gas pains and nausea were so bad that I was wondering why I went with the decision altogether. I was terrified that it wasn't going to go away. It will be so worth it though. I hope you feel better soon and good luck!!
  7. Yes! I know what you mean. My sense of smell was very strong after surgery. So much so that the ride home was miserable. Thankfully that's seemed to calm down a little bit a couple months out though. There are a lot of foods and Protein shakes (such as premier protein) that I loved before that I can't stand the taste of now. My dietitian warned me about that before I had the surgery, so I think it's a pretty common thing.

    Numbness/Tingling

Thank you so much!! My surgeon just had me get an ultrasound to test for blood clots and that wasn't the problem so I will definitely try that. Thanks again!
  9. Hello! I am one week post-op today and everything's been going really well so far except for one thing. Yesterday, my left leg started feeling tingly and numb from my upper thigh to my foot. I'm thinking it may be the sitting in one place for an extended amount of time because walking around seemed to help at first. Today, it hasn't helped all that much. I called the doctor's office and I'm waiting to hear something back. Has anyone else had this experience?
  10. @@dmyrna Thank you!! That has been hard for me too but you can do it. Good luck with the rest of the days! I noticed on your post that your surgery is also on the 18th so I hope that everything goes well!!
  11. Thank you!! Good luck too!
  12. You are so right, thank you!! I hope that everything goes well with your surgery!
  13. Hello everyone! I will be having surgery next Wednesday, May 18th (one week!). I have been so excited and not nervous at all up until this point, but today was when everything became real. The complications and risks are terrifying me even though they're pretty unlikely. I'm second-guessing my decision at the moment even though I know it's definitely the best choice for me. This is probably a normal thing, but did anyone else go through this? Are you glad you went through with it?
