  1. I'm 4 weeks post op and I've lost 37 pounds which is great but although I've noticed toning in my body the past two weeks my scale has barely moved. I know stalls are normal so I haven't stopped exercising and I really can't eat much more than a few bites, but it's frustrating! I read of people increasing their card/calorie intake to break their stall... how could that be? I've been avoiding carbs by choice, I wasn't given a no carb dietary restriction like some people just told to avoid white carbs, but maybe a dose of whole grain bread or Pasta would help. Seems like it benefitted other people, but I don't quite understand how eating higher calories/carbs would break a stall? Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Incision Pain

that looks the way mine did, my biggest incision that had the drain hurt the most. the first week was really difficult, and oddly enough day 5-8 was harder for me than my first days post op. those feelings when you're getting comfortable are super normal, it's hard to find a good position that doesn't hurt sometimes! 3. I'm 3 weeks post op and for the most part, I feel amazing! I'm steadily losing weight and keeping everything down, I'm walking more and more every day too. The past two days I've noticed a pulling feeling in my belly button area? It's pretty minor and it comes and goes... I was really paranoid about it possibly being a leak because I just started creamy Soups but I'm hardly eating and I don't even know if I'd go as far as to call it pain. Laying in certain positions or moving around I just get this weird little feeling in my belly button area. During early recovery I did have a lot of pain centered in that area but I started to feel completely better... why is it back? Could it be the introduction of food again? Increased walking/pulling something? Or could it be a leak? I should stress that the pain really isn't persistent and I only get it when I'm in certain positions. It's just strange because I've started to feel totally fine and it seems like this third week this weird strain decided to pop up. At first I thought it was pain but I've noticed it's more of a pull so.. who knows. I hope someone else has experience with that because I'm a little worried atm! lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. I had surgery on monday, I came home last night, and I'm already so excited about this journey. I was told I could take a shower my first day home but I'm soooo anxious about getting my incisions wet and getting an infection! I'm also worried about fixing the tape/gauzes myself if they fall off. Any tips? How did you keep your incisions dry after your vsg? Thankfully I have a removable shower head so I should be able to just avoid the area altogether. Want to hop in the shower but I need some advice first. Also, unrelated but where I had my IV in feels like someone beat my hand to a pulp! Bumping into things or even bending my hand in some positions hurts, was anyone else this sore in the area of their IV?
  7. This is a stupid question but I'm getting vsg in 5 days and my roots are showing as they normally would since I last dyed my hair like two months ago.. I know I'm probably going to experience hair thinning/loss after surgery and I want to avoid dyeing it or damaging it.. is it better to dye it now or to put it off until after? Could there be a possible conflict with dyeing my hair at home and hair loss/complications? I probably sound silly but I'd rather be too careful and ask!
  8. I had an upper endoscopy last summer so luckily I don't need another one before my surgery. Honestly, my experience couldn't have been better. It was quick and painless. I had little to no pain or discomfort with my throat. One second I was getting an IV put in, the next I was talking to the anesthesiologist, then I woke up and everything was over. I was loopy as all hell, I remember asking the nurses why they were wearing all white and just being very talkative and annoying lol. Maybe I just take things lightly but my endoscopy hardly effected me. I took a nap when I got home but I felt 100% fine. I also got my wisdom teeth removed last month and they told me (I don't remember at all) that when I came to afterwards I was singing loudly because they let me keep in headphones for the procedure lol. As soon as I was conscious they told me not to speak because I had already stressed my jaw enough jamming out while out of it. My doctor said the throat pain after the sleeve is similar to that of an endoscopy so hopefully with these past experience I'll be in a little happy place momentarily after surgery
