    Omg Monkfruit!

I get mine at Sherms, they also have it at Whole Foods, and, of course, Amazon
  2. Monkfruit is soooo good! I can’t stand aspartame, and steivia, yuck! 😖 splenda is okay but I understand it is kinda bad for you... but Monkfruit is great! The kind I get is slightly less sweet then sugar, very mild aftertaste but not unpleasant (reminds me of gum), when mixed with other flavors is almost unnoticeable (especially compared to anything with nasty aspartame)

    Protein drink

So you need a blender? Or can you just shake it up in a bottle?
  4. I am terrified of being hungry!!! Heck, I have that thing where they look in your throat and I have to not eat for half a day (nothing after 7 the night before and nothing but water that morning, and nothing at all 4 hours before....) I am stressing over being so uncomfortable and miserable! I find hunger to be physically painful... I hate it! That week of liver shrink?? I am wondering if they can please put me in a coma for it! (Lol) I am also worried about being hungry after the surgery but unable to eat. Yesterday I went hiking. I brought one of those protein drinks my dietitian told me to try. 5 hours after lunch but 2 hours before I got home I drank it and had a hand full of nuts... it kinda took the edge off but I was still definitely hungry! If that was the state of satiety I would be uncomfortable and unhappy. I hate being hungry!
  5. I did not like his attitude towards fat people. At one point he says “you think the healthiest thing is chicken breast, and you think you know that, but but you’re wrong. Look at your body. Now look at my body. I am not getting bariatric surgery. I have never had a weight problem. So listen to me not what you think you know, because which one of us looks like me know how to eat” This made me soooo mad! And it’s not true that if you are skinny you wat right and if you are fat you don’t. (I don’t care about the chicken part) I know a girl at work. She is soooo skinny I could almost put my hands around her waist. All I ever see her eat are donuts and cookies and energy drinks and soda. I mean she is so skinny she makes you look fat, Dr. Vonung, so I suppose you think I should copy her and eat what she eats?
  6. My dietitian said to start sampling protein shakes and find one I like. I don’t like aspartame or steivia, but I like Splenda and monk fruit I like chocolate and vanilla and hate anything with banana Suggestions?

    The Cookie Incident

Thank you so much for sharing! You are NOT a looser, you are a HUMAN. Any of us can have, have had, or will have days like that... And sugury doesn't make you a different person, impervious to mistakes, bad choices, and bad days... But you did something few of us do: You confessed your humanity. And it is confessions like yours that make this a safe space for us all to admit to our own mistakes, instead of hiding them in shame under a facade of flawless compliance.

    Following surgery with Weight Watchers

The newer weight watchers is much better. Basically fruit, veggies, lean protine, eggs, and fish are free... Sugar and saturated fat are counted against you- but not completely off limits. Healthy foods that should be consumed in moderation (like avacado, whole grain, etc) you mostly count calories (about 30 Cal a PT, if I recall). It make be a good way to keep things in proportion. And you don't need to weigh, measure, or count lean protine, fruit, or veg. I am pre-op and not a dietition tho.
  9. I can try it with Splenda. Splenda is the only artificial sweetener I really like.

    600 pound life!

Oh no! How sad! The ones I have seen have had happy endings. I actually wondered if they scrapped the episode if they die on the operating table because sad endings don't make for good tv. ...I guess they don't

    600 pound life!

I don't like that guy. He comes across as harsh and mean. I am the kind of person who handles "tough love" by curling into a ball in my bed and hiding, feeling a painful mix of hopless, guilty, angry, incompetent, and resentful. I then seek something to take the edge off my emotional pain and down out my feelings. It makes me wanna curl up and hide, and lash out and scream at the same time. If you wanna help me lose weight you don't say, "look at you, you fat failure! You're gonna die if you don't get your eating under control!" Instead, you say, 'Hey, I'm going hiking on Saturday, you wanna come?" Or you say, "I know how busy you are, so I made you a skinless boneless chicken and veggie stir fry so you don't have to cook." Or you say, "I'm doing a whole 30 and am looking for someone to do it with me" Or, "I am starting a walking group" Or, "You know what I do when I feel aweful? Yoga. Wanna come with me to my next class?" Or even, "How can I help?" If you aren't willing to help me, that's fine, I am not your responsibility, but then stay out of it! I have been attacked for my weight my whole life, sometimes physically. I had to change schools 4 times for bullying in elementary. I can't stand it when doctors take a "tough love" stance with their patience. Education is one thing. But I see him go beyond education to blame. I want a doctor like Reeger from weightloss sugury podcast. She knows how to give it to you strait without accusing you.
  13. This happens to me ALL the time! I have one little thing and get instantly re-addicted to sugar! I go, "well, it's Thanksgiving, it's a holiday... Mashed potatoes, stuffing, pie... Tomorrow I'll get on track". Then they send me a lovely to-go box... Including more pie... A smart person would have politely thrown the pie into the dumpster on the way home but.... And then, well heck, my diet is blown any way so I might as well have some hot cocoa, it's Christmas-time after all and it's been so cold lately... And I start craving sugar like MAD! Two weeks later and I am finally back on track... It's so easy to fall into trouble and so hard to climb back out. *Sigh*

    Swimming

Is it "uncomfortable" or just "there"? Does the less bouancy require a change in technique? Maybe more kicking for example?
  15. Has losing 100lbs effected your swimming in any way? I ADORE swimming and have since I was about 5 years old! Not just swimming but "playing in the water", hand stands and flips and kicking off the wall to fly like Superman, and floating, and diving after a giant beach ball, and doing water yoga.... Pretty much if it involves being in the water (hot or cold) I love it! So here is my question: did losing weight effect your swimming in anyway? Were you cold? Were you embarrassed by your loose skin? Did the difference in bouancy cause you to need to change technique? Anything about swimming (other then no swimming for a few weeks right after (major BOO!!!!)?
