8 Years Post OP - Weight Gain
Shemekasr replied to Timetrax's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello all, I am 4 years post op and I totally feel your pain. Post sleeve i was 256 lbs. My lowest weight was 146lbs. I am currently 205 lbs. I have made the decision to get back on track with it all. I will start with the basics of protein shakes for 3 days, then slowly introduce other allowable foods. I do know that my sleeve is still intact because i cant eat alot at one time, but once that food digests, I am ready for more, but only out of habit, not hunger. For me it is mental because when I am bored I eat. Since having my last child I have began to fall back into old habits, but I know I can make the changes because my sleeve still works and I am ready to do this once again!! -
Way to go... so proud of you!!!

I am 18 days post op and I felt the exact same way. It is hard to imagine that it will get better but trust me it will. Now, I get frustrated because I can't each as slow nor as much as I want so I am working on that but it is all in phases and each one gets better. Hang in there!! Hello everyone, this thread has been very helpful to me. I am 2 weeks post op and I am struggling just like everyone else. I just started on soft foods today. I have tried Tuna with a little mayo and hummus. The hummus went down easy but the tuna created a tightness in my chest. There are times that I regret my decision to get sleeved but it's too late now so i just hope it gets better like everyone says. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Head hunger has been a struggle for me also. This is much harder than I thought it would be, but its no turning back now, so I just have to deal with it although it is driving me insane thinking of all the foods that I would love to have right now. I even thought to myself, if i had lost weight without WLS then I could at least have a salad, but my way has never worked for me so I gotta give this a fair shot. I went to the store today and purchased some creamy tomato Soup made by campbells and It was really good and satisfying. I only ate about 4 tablespoons and that did the trick for me so I am over the hump for today. Hang in there yall, we got this! One day at a time is the motto -

@@sarahb309 I have been feeling the exact same way so this morning I made sure to get my protein in by adding the nectar to my crystal light and that really did help with the loss of energy, but I still struggled with the thoughts of food. My NUT only allows clear liquids the first two weeks so I am struggling a bit. I actually broke down and licked a couple BBQ chips today which i am not proud of, but I did it and just being honest. It actually helped with my craving because I was tired of the bland taste in my mouth. Although i did lick the chip that is as far as I will go because I dont want to sabatoge my new way of life. Hang in there dear, we will make it!!! -

Hello everyone, omg this has been so hard! I was discharged this morning from the hospital but I am sooooo sore and I feel miserable . I miss my kids but i can't take care of them right now so my mom is helping by keeping them while my husband helps me recover. Although i am not hungry I think about food. But the worst part is the soreness, constant rumble in my stomach and the difficulty getting all of my fluids in. I hope everything will get better soon.
