    May 7th is my Band-day!

Feeling...hmm..anxious, a bit nervous, ready for the actual surgery part to be over I jsut have to maintain my sanity through my last 4 hours a t work tomorrow & I'll be fine. I haven't actaully had much "last supper syndrome" realy until today..no real last suppers thus far, but contemplating gooey brownie with vanilla ice cream <no!! go away you bad devil you!!>. Honestly, I'm ready & this is jsut seeming like the longest, shortest 36 hours ever...
  2. I read your post & literally laughed out loud & nearly fell out of my chair b/s my hubby asked me this weekend was I okay, becauae he hasn't seen me clean so frantically since right before our son was born! Glad to know I'm now the only nesting fiend on the planet this week!

    I am scheduled for May

Hello, all!! Another a-MAY-zing lady here in ND with a May 7th surgery date. Just around the corner now & getting a bit anxious ~ a lot excited. I'll look forward to sharing this journey with you all
  8. From everything I've read here, it appears that definitely P-A-I-N is the answer. I'm getting banded 5/7 & was grateful for our "lengthy" pre-surgery program that helped me to re-learn what "satisified" feels like & what "fulls" feels like. Funny that one of the most powerful things I've heard is that we have always spent so much time thinking about food..that is until we start eating & then every ration thought flies out the door! What a simple statement, but sadly how true it was for me too!
  9. Hello all :glare: I stumbled across this forum several weeks ago & was amazed at what a great resource this is. After all the “try-agains”, I’ve settled on surgery as the last resort tool to help me make this life change for good. Our program here (Grand Forks, ND) is one of, as many put it, “a whole heck of a lot of hoops to go through,”, but I instead see this as a commitment to help ensure the success both before, during, & after banding. These hoops include: mandatory seminar, requests for medical records for the last 5 years from every doctor, appointment with a dietician, appointment with a psychologist, initial bariatric assessment, appointment with surgeon, 12 mandatory nutrition & exercise class, 6 wk mandatory behavior modifications class, after all of this (& of course insurance approval), surgery date gets to be set, and then the long awaited surgery. WOW!!! That made me tired !!! I’ve just started the 12 wks class & have my appts with psychologist & initial assessment this next Friday. I look forward to this journey & to getting to know you…
