Anyone banded and now has breast cancer?
BayCityBandster replied to dragonflyblue's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
not personally, but i just wanted to offer you my best wishes and prayers for a full recovery! -
do you follow the post fill diet and why is it necessary?
BayCityBandster replied to Linda Hamsing Rosen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
that is all too funny! i am not filled yet but 3 weeks out and still on mushies, and i never thought i could get sick of creamed soups, mashed potatoes and pudding, BUT I AM DYING FOR A VEGETABLE, LOL! -
No blaming here, just concern. I hope you will keep trying to find a doc who will treat you. There has to be one out there. Good luck. This is not a DIY kind of thing.

Confession: Pre-Fill Binge
BayCityBandster replied to Northwest_Nance's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think you should be proud of yourself! You stopped mid-binge with your favorite sandwich in-hand...I would call that a victory. So you had a couple of drinks, but you stopped the eating! Congrats! -
What's the Scoop on Eggs???
BayCityBandster replied to BayCityBandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you so much to everyone who responded. I called my doc's office and told the nutritionist I was having trouble with lots of gas from the milk/yogurt I was eating and asked if there was an alternative for Protein right now. She said EGGS! So last night and tonight I had an omelet for dinner and right now, pre-fill, they went down like BUTTAH! So so good! Tomorrow it's egg salad here I come! I raise my egg to all of you! -
Have you ever been told to avoid sugar free items?
BayCityBandster replied to yellowroseaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my pcp hates splenda and all artificial sweeteners and would prefer that i avoid them. my band doc's office recommends them. i am sure they can't be great for you but at this point in life weight loss is my top priority -- at some point, tho, i hope i can phase as much of it out of my diet as possible. -
i'm so sorry sheemac. you will have the last laugh, and those people will forever be empty shells. i commend you for raising kind children and for standing up for yourself. how can people be so cruel? i will never understand it.

What's the Scoop on Eggs???
BayCityBandster replied to BayCityBandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks, all! I will let you know how it goes! -
i used to love their slushes...can't have the calories/sugar anymore, but maybe once in a blue moon. their ice cream is average at best and i never had their food, but their grape slush - oh yeah!

i think if i had had this done at 25 or so i would be dealing with the same thing. now that i am older, have had health complications and missed out on so many things in life (including pregnancy), i look at the results so different, like it is almost another chance at life. for all of you who are so young, i am so happy for you, that you will have this chance at a normal, healthy life. we can all do this!!!

What's the Scoop on Eggs???
BayCityBandster replied to BayCityBandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks, everyone! Another Q? Anyone know what the best way to try them is? I was thinking of making like an egg salad with almost no chunks. almost like a paste. I am sooooo hungry. Thanks!!! -
Why decaf coffee? I miss my caffeine!!!
BayCityBandster replied to magdaline's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
my doctor is one of the strictest i have come across with length on liquids, etc. but he let us have coffee w/caffeine right away. go figure! i don't get all these conflicting rules, but i hope you find a solution...i feel your pain! -
Post-op depression, or are my meds just not working?
BayCityBandster replied to DivaRae's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i'm probably no help, but i know how you feel. i just feel out of sorts since the surgery, like i don't know what to do with myself. i have read that this is a common reaction to the hormonal fluctations post-banding, but i don't really get why. i feel for you, tho! -
i am so impressed by you and so happy you have had success despite all your challenges. you inspire me!

Soounds like jealousy to me!

Wishful thinking - eating out
BayCityBandster replied to stef123633's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
still on full liquids but i think when i CAN eat out i will probably just order something regular and take some home. i love leftovers! -
i was 45, but my dad was 67 and over 300 lbs.

What my mother said
BayCityBandster replied to FELICIA17's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
you know what struck me the most? how lucky she is that she can't relate...that she can't imagine why you just can't stop eating when you want to. i think a lot of people are like that, and frankly, i envy them. but lots of us understand, especially here...and we support you! -
wow, jack - how true! thanks for that!
-
i am right there with you -- banded on may 23 and want to eat, but will not cave. i am determined to beat this addiction. i wish you luck.

I'm down again today
BayCityBandster replied to Linda Hamsing Rosen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
linda, i was banded less than a week ago, so i have no advice, but definitely know i will struggle with the same issues and i send you hugs and support! -
Eating Mushy foods already
BayCityBandster replied to browneyedgoddes's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i think you are risking long-term complications with your band. i think you should stop. but i know how hard it is, and tho i haven't cheated yet, it is tempting. it can really hurt you tho. don't do it. -
Can ANYONE eat pasta post-banding???
BayCityBandster replied to BayCityBandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
thank you all so much for your advice! i definitely plan to try the spaghetti squash, and my first mushie meal will be ricotta cheese, ground beef and spaghettie sauce. only 3 more weeks! -
what about gas?????? help!
BayCityBandster replied to Bandana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i wish i could help, but i am in the same boat. i have tried gas x strips and pills, rolaids multisymptom, nothing works so far. i feel for you, though!!!
