Any bingers cured after surgery?
BayCityBandster replied to Liz1531's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i had always been a compulsive eater but mainly only "binged" at night. now, after my fourth fill, i find i can't binge on as much food, but i still find myself thinking about it and trying once in a while. i don't think i'll ever be cured, but maybe after my next fill, i'll be in remission. it is my fondest dream... best of luck to you! -
How long after a fill do stay on liquid diet?
BayCityBandster replied to TheWatcher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
my doc says 12 - 24 hours...mushies or whatever i feel up to after that. -

Hi CCM! I am in Bay City and was banded in Port Huron, but that is two hours from me, so I know how you feel. Maybe we can get something started? -

Hi - I am in Bay City and was banded in Port Huron. Nice to meet you all! -
this happened to me, but i couldn't hold down even a sip of Water, and the pain was unbearable. i went the next day and he took out 1cc (now have 8 in a 14 cc ap large band). it is perfect. let us know how things turn out.

just had 1st fill-4cc's didn't touch me
BayCityBandster replied to jkend50035's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
jkend, i totally get how you are feeling. i am 4 months out and just got restriction. now i get it. i had NO self control before this. now i can get down 1200 calories a day max and eating is just not recreational like it used to be. you will get there...but i get your frustration. can you ask the doc for more fill? (i now have 8 in a 14 cc ap large). -
Can ANYONE eat pasta post-banding???
BayCityBandster replied to BayCityBandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i just have to update you all! it has taken months, and i still need at least one more fill, probably more, but i can honestly say... i made a big bowl of my fave Pasta yesterday and...drumroll please... only ate about 1/5 of it. it didn't taste as good as it used to, and i just got tired of eating it. this did not happen to me until almost four months in...but it happened. thanks again for all of you who told me that what i could eat wouldn't matter as much as it once did...i thought i was a failure, but i am starting to feel like a real bandster. best to all on this board! -
that is wonderful! you look beautiful and glowing! i am so happy for you and would have done this a long time ago if i could have...i am 46 and feel young and hopeful again! congrats!

2 wks post op and tender port area with plum size lump. HELP!!!!
BayCityBandster replied to dperson's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
have you been overeating? i don't have much restriction yet but when i overeat, my port sticks out and looks like a lump, and gets sore and painful. get it checked out, but it is probably nothing serious. please let us know how you are doing... -
Nortone, I feel for you...I have almost no restriction at 6cc/14cc band. I hope you get on track now and find your success!
-
Nancy, you are right. I did not realize it was originally posted elsewhere, and I apologize for my mistake. Still, I wish people who are doing so well with it would appreciate how hard it is for those who aren't. I read all the stories, positive and negative, and I thought I would be one of the success stories. Maybe I will be some day. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Geez, Kat, she posted in the "struggling" category. Give her and US a break. Good for you, it is working for you...why don't you post in all the other threads where everyone is doing just great and leave us to this one. You have no idea how frustrating it is to go through all of this and not have it work. Seriously, have a heart.

Anyone who said this doesn't hurt=lies!
BayCityBandster replied to ahsem2bme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
everybody has a different pain level, different pain tolerance. i was miserable for a couple of weeks, and if i had had to FLY the next day, forget it. i promise you will feel better soon. but who told you it wouldn't hurt? -
how many cc's for restriction 14cc
BayCityBandster replied to Alfie's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i just got my second fill -- 3 more cc for a total of 6 cc in my ap large band. i can honestly say this is the first time i have felt restriction, but i notice it lessening since i was filled about 24 hours ago. -
post op day 3 gas pains
BayCityBandster replied to peaches1015's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i had really really bad gas from the instant breakfast and finally realized i had some lactose intolerance happening -- i had never drank that much milk before and didn't realize i had it. i called the nutritionist in my surgeon's office and she let me start some soft foods early, like eggs, to get my protein in. if you think you might have the same problem, maybe call them? good luck. the pain does go away! -
Little Disappointed In My Weight Loss So Far
BayCityBandster replied to BettinaB's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
is this a joke? you lost 26 lbs in less than a month and you are disappointed? i was banded may 23 and have lost way less than you. try not to compare yourself to anyone else, but you are doing great!!! i didn't have restriction until yesterday with my second fill, so i hope to get to 26 lbs. one of these days. keep up the great work!!! -
i am so sorry, lulubrat, and i feel for you. have you ever had your thyroid checked? i am not losing and it may be due to my thyroid -- they put me on meds recently but it has been hard to regulate and is still slow. i hope you find a solution because i know how very frustrating and demotivating this can be. keep us posted!

Losing too fast?
BayCityBandster replied to taradefrank's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
dionna and tp - thank you so very much for responding. i was having a really bad day. everyone, please accept my apology for that self-indulgent post, especially on a thread where people were happy about their accomplishments. i would delete it but if it's okay with everyone, i want to leave it there to remind me never to do that again. taradefrank and everyone who is losing fast, i truly am happy for you and will work harder to join your ranks. again, please forgive the tirade and best to everyone.
