Hi Tallow2102. How are you doing? I hope your surgery went well and that you are recovering smoothly. Keep us posted. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm with you. I got sleeved on May 10th. I'm progressing well and didn't experience much pain but I'm also finding it difficult to get the Water and liquids in. The shakes take up all the space. I can't wait to get to the soft foods so I can make purées with different ingredients. At least I'll feel like I'm eating something. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks. I've lost one pound per day and I couldn't be more ecstatic. Today it hit me for the first time that I can't believe I made this huge life changing decision and that it's done. Finished. There is no turning back so now it's time to suck it up, follow the instructions and make the best of our new lives. My son and husband wanted very starchy, saucy Italian food for dinner. On a typical day I would've had seconds and thirds with loads of bread and Pasta. But today, I wasn't even tempted. It felt so good. Then I told myself, if I was a body builder, athlete, or other health/body conscious person I would not be eating those things anyway so if I don't eat them again, neither do those people. The point is, I'm consciously pushing away the negative thoughts and reinforcing my decision as the right one. The doctor told a lot or most of this is mental so we have to recondition ourselves I suppose. Let's do it together. ???? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

24601, thanks for the support and encouragement. I had my sleeve on Tuesday, 5/10 and I'm home. I feel the same way Idid with my c-sections (heavy in the abdomen with intermittent but bearable pain) so it's nothing that I can't handle. The best part is I'm not hungry at all. For now I'm working to get rid of all the gas. Ugghh. It's so annoying. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Low BMI Gastric Sleeve story

I haven't been hungry at all. It's amazing. I'm sinking chicken broth, eating sugar free Jello and drinking(sipping) Water all day. It's very doable more advice, do deep breathing and often. It helps to open the lungs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I'm a 34 BMI and got sleeved on Monday 5/10. I just got home and am surprised at how and smooth the surgery went. I admit I'm sore internally but I don't have much pain. It's the gas that puts pressure inside. Once you pass gas it gets better good luck today and thanks for sharing. My only advise is to do everything the dr. says and walk a lot. Hi Ginger. Thanks for sharing. I'm scheduled for 5/10 and my doctor gave me a list of groups. You may want to call your dr. and see if he/she can recommend a group. As for your husband, I can imagine that being tough but look at it this way, you are strong, brave and if you got through the first 30 days you can get through anything. This was for you. Focus on you. As women, wives, mothers we often forget about ourselves (my case) but now it's your time. He'll come around in due time. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi. I'll be your May 10th buddy. Our journeys seem to have started around the same time. I started my preop diet on 4/26 at 210 and am down to 202. I must admit, I'm concerned bcs I've not been able to get my 64 oz of Water on top of the shakes and Protein bars. I'm not generally a snacker so it's been difficult. I'm surprised however that I have not been hungry or anxious about food at all during this preop diet phase. I've had to get creative to dodge some bullets at some social functions this week but it wasn't too tough. I do find myself lying a lot as to why I can't eat. Lol (I already ate, I'm full, I can't drink bcs I'm on antibiotics, etc). I even held strong against my son's birthday cake. Mother's Day will be a big test. So as I'm trying to stay focused, I wish the same for you. Let's stay in touch. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm so glad I ran into this. I'm also a low BMI (5'5" 198 lbs) and have been debating whether it's a good idea (I.e., can I lose on my own etc.) but all things point to getting it done as I've been on a weight yo-yo my entire life. You inspire me to move forward. I'm scheduled for 5/10 and this is exactly what I needed. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi CSouth. Good luck tomorrow. I'm scheduled for 5/10 and feel just like you do. Nervous/not real excited. I've also gone back and forth on the idea but as one of my greatest mentors once told me, " if you have a good reason, you've done your research, analyzed the situation and made an educated decision, stick to it." That's what I'm doing especially bcs I already paid in cash. Chin up. Spirits high and keep us posted. Best of luck. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
