Hello! Im new to Bariatric Pal. I am trying to get some information on CHAMPVA and if they covered your surgery. I Was truely wondering how long the attempts to lose weight before had to be. I have tried many diets in the past and never successfully kept weight off or lost more than maybe 10% of body weight. I have one attempt on record with my doctor of like 3 months ... and maybe one of a month. Im wondering what everyone else has had and been able to get approved for. Im afraid i go thru with the surgery and get stuck with a huge bill cause CHAMPVA doesnt want to cover cause i didnt have accurate history. Thank you In advance!!!

Why can I eat more than most?
Michilingi replied to BrittBritt89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its actually what you eat. Salad is lighter more of a liquid, and when chewed it becomes very small. If you tried to eat something dense like meat- 5oz you would be able to. It changes by what you eat. Ive noticed some things i can eat 4 oz others i can eat 2 and feel full. Dont worry you havent streched your tummy yet! -
how to eat after 9 months
Michilingi replied to shelleys goal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told by my surgeon to incorporate strength training now. This is the time to stall, and building muscles will kick the stall out. Good luck! -
Ive been taking flinestones, i tried the centrum chewables and couldnt stand the taste. Flinestones have been much more palatable.

I eat oikos triple zero, my Nut recommended not exceeding 5 grams .. but yogurt always has more, so its understandable.

Hello everyone, So being a newbie still only 7-8 weeks out. Im trying to find ideas of portable Protein "meals" to bring. I still only eat 1/4cup ... about 2 oz per meal. I was trying to find easy things that go down, to bring with me on the run. Any ideas greatly appreciated

How to cope with death so soon out...
Michilingi posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just lost my Grandmother, and I'm feeling really lost. I want to focus on life, and continue on. I also need to say my goodbyes. I am finding it hard to focus on my health. I need to continue to work out, get protein in, and fluids. I know that i need to continue to focus on even just getting my protein from shakes, until i feel better. I'm just having issues processing, and I'm worried about overeating. I never overate before, or stress ate. But i'm in a fragile place in my process, being 9 weeks out. I would love any advise, or anything you all can give me towards this confusion im having. -

Best portable protein snacks?
Michilingi replied to Michilingi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is a great point. Sorry my phone is acting up. I would do it on the run, but they have a high sugar content cause of the fruit and would go to waste :/. Unless you have ideas about that -

Im also barely making my water goals for the day. I have been very dizzy the past few days. ANY advise on how to up my protein and water consumption? Im feeling like a failure and my doctors office is telling me not to be so hard on myself, that people can have issues with transitions. But i do feel like a failure
