Looking for people who are just starting the bariatric process
Michilingi replied to XxStephYxX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, I have already been to the Info session. I have my surgeon appointment on June 9th, i honestly can't wait. My insurance doesn't require anything but my Dr. requires a psych eval, 2 nutrition appointments, and possibly other testing. I'm anxious to get this process started, so i can become a healthier version of myself! -
I was wondering how much protein was recommended daily to you by your doctor, also if it was just purely protein shakes or you could add soups?

Oh good to know, the group I'm seeing has me doing psych evaluation, 2 nutritious appointmentso, and idk what else yet

I'm going to hartford hospital for my gastric bypass, with Dr. Tishler they seem like a great group. Have you heard much about them? -
I doubt I will have this issue, out of no where I barely drink fluids, I don't drink with my meals and thought that was a huge issue, but I found out your not going to once you have the surgery.

Oh okay, thank you. I don't snore every night, I do when I'm sick. But I'm a side sleeper. Not sure if that plays a factor

Hi! For the surgery or your consultation?? -
I wanted to give everYone who goes looking for info on chanpva an answer. I found out that there is no pre-approval, all you have to have is a bmi of 40 or greater or a bmi of 35 to 40 with 2 Co-morbidity such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease. You also need to have proof that you have tried under a doctor's care to lose the weight with a diet plan such as weight watchers. Other than that you can have the surgery tomorrow and it would be covered.
