Hi Mom007, I was banded on March 11,2008 and then had my gallbladder out on May 29th. My hair has been falling out big time. I started taking lots of Zinc and extra vitiams and fish oil. So far nothing has changed, the hair keeps falling out. I am thankful I have thick hair, I would love ideas on this problem. It is hard washing hair because so much is falling out. SusieQ1964 replied to healthysue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Healthy Sue, I used Slim Fast Protein Shakes. I had to lose 10% of my weight before surgery. I started drinking the shakes 3 times a day and lost 30lbs in 6 weeks before my surgery. I still drink a shake a day for the protein I have lost 60lbs and I was banded March 11,2008. Good Luck! I know you will be successful. Susie Q 1964 -

Hello to everyone:redface: I just turned 62 on June 17th and I am so glad that I got the Lap-Band Surgery. My surgery was on March 11th 2008. Everything went fine. If anyone is suffering from Right Abdomial Pain or pain in your between your shoulder blades you should check with your Dr. you might have gallbladder problems. I was having all the above problems and talking with my Dr. I went to the ER the pain was so bad. My Dr then sent me in for an Ultra Sound, and the next week the office called and said I was fine. Well 2 days later I got terrible pain & thought I was having a Heart Attack, off to the hospital and after 2 days my Dr ordered a Nucular CT and they found out it was my gallbladder, it had stoped working. Had surgery 2 weeks ago, the pain is gone. I had had 3 fills and have lost 56lbs. I am very so HAPPY! I know that we can all do this & be sucessful. It takes One Day AT A Time. Remember your Protein it is so important to your body. God Bless, Susan Boise, Idaho

Hello to everyone! I have my surgery on March 11th 2008. I started to have pain on the right side of my stomach. Went to the Dr. and he said it was not related to the lap band surgery. He did my first fill and I went home. Last week I went to ER I was in terrible pain, they did a CT put found nothing. I went back to my Dr. for another fill & we discussed the pain at length. He had me do an ultrsound today! It could be gallstones! Does anyone have pain that just comes on and it just gets worse? I had my second fill and am at 5cc's. I have no energy! I have lost 50lbs which is exciting but am so tried of this pain. God Bless All Of You and may everything work out well. I won't find out until next Tuesday. Susan Boise, Idaho

Hi Everyone, I am glad to be part of this group and I am praying for each & everyone of you! My name is Susan and I live in Boise, Idaho. I lost my husband in the Line of Duty, it will be 6 years on March 12th. He was a Police Officer. My whole life changed, I have struggled with losing weight since I had my last child in 1974. I reached an all time High of 300lbs this year. I heard about Lap Band on a TV. I first went to the Dr. on Jan 16th and weight in and then I went through all the testing and finally I am scheuled of Surgery March 11th with Dr. Bryan Anderson. I have been on a liquid diet for 3 weeks and have found in the last few days I am getting very dizy. Has this happed to anyone? What has everyone been sipping for food the first 2 weeks Post Op? I know that we can do this, the band does it's part and we do ours. We will be healthy & well and get off all our meds. Has anyone had problems taking medication after surgery? Blessings to all! Susan

I am really excitied my surgery is on March 11th, the proces was simple, I got through all the testing and have lost 25lbs. I know that I have to do my part after surgery, and eat right and exercise. I am committed to this being a way of life. I am so excitied that the Lap-Band will help me, but I need to do my part also. How is your first weeks after Surgery? Hi to everyone:smile2: God is so Good! He knows all of our struggles and is walking with us through this journey. I started with the Lap Band Process on Jan 16th 2008. I had all the testing to do and had to lose 10% of my body weight. Praise God, I saw the Surgeon on Monday and will have my Surgery on March 11th. I am so excitied:biggrin2:......................... After talking with the Dr. I realized that this works when we do our part of eating & drinking what they say and of course exercise. I believe that it is a tool for me that God has brought into my life. I don't have a lot of support so I really appreciate your prayers and support. I pray for all of you. Susan Idaho

sleep test before surgery?
SusieQ1964 replied to lilnora2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi to everyone I am worried about the results of my Sleep Apnea Test. I had it 4 weeks ago, I go see the Sleep Dr. 3-05-08, I just pray that I don't have it. I have no Insurance and it cost $3,064.00, so I don't want to have another test. It was mandatory to have this test by Lap Band Surgeron. All other test have been done, I have lost 20lbs and have another 10 to have lost my 10% of my weight before they scheule surgery. Anyone else concered about the Sleep Test and that you might have to do it a again? Maybe I worry to much................................................. Susie Q -
Hi Valerie, Like you, I am a Christian and love Jesus. This was a hard decision to make but I feel God's prescence every step of the way. I had know Self Control with Food and got so so heavy I was embrassed to go to Church. I have HOPE in Christ that we will make it, we need to keep each other lifted up in prayer and know that Christ walks with us all the time. Susie Q 1964

Hi, I wanted to encourage everyone that we can do this. Last night was hard put I don't have much to eat in my house which helps. I had a real struggle in my mind if I should have another protein shake. I won the struggle and went to bed and I am down 2 more lbs today. We can win this struggle, I realize I can't even have my surgery until I lose my 30lbs. My Dr. only will do the surgery every other Tues. and he only does 2 people. I weigh in on Wed. I don't have Insurance so I have paid for everything. I know that it is worth it! One Minute at a time and we will make it. God Speed Susie
