Well, if you don't get a good vibe or want to keep looking-let me know. Dr. Hoehn was superb! He's not far from you, he's in Shawnee. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Today is my first day using this forum. I started at 504 lbs. Today I weighed in at 280.2. I hope to offer support to others and continue to be inspired by those succeeding in their journey. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  4. I never cried either, but this is an emotional time for you...lots of adjustments and new experiences. I think it's important to feel your feelings-whether they're hormones or underlying emotions, you clearly need and may continue to need that release. Don't fight it, embrace it! It's part of this process. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anna, I think perception is key. Sometimes taking the right step can feel like the wrong move only because there's some initial discomfort & fear. You're correct, the physical pain will continue to decrease, but it's important to remember why you took this step to begin with. It wasn't to harm yourself, but to help yourself. It may be tough to see the positives right now, but you have to trust and have faith in the journey. All the best is yet to come. As for hunger, focus on getting your fluids and Proteins. Staying on top of both with help with hunger pains. I'm here for you! Daniel Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hello, Anna. Thank you for the kind words. Advice....well, I'm happy to offer insight but I need a little information. When you state you have regret and feel depressed-what specifically are you depressed about? Also, you mentioned pain. Are you still physical pain? Was your procedure 4/22 or 4/29? ~Daniel Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Wendy's chili puréed with a handheld device was awesome. I needed something different and it just hit the spot! I'm a chili fan, do that probably helped. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Not to be too personal, but how are your bowel movements? When I've stalled there was always a direct correlation to that... When I addressed that, weight and other "things" started moving, too. My best, Daniel Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I can understand that. It is all a bit surreal. Sounds like you're closing in on the finish line though! Nothing about my journey has been anything less than fascinating. I'm continually amazed and reinforced that this was THE BEST decision. I've really embraced each step along the way. After all, it's a one way ticket. So through the prep, the eating stages, the physical activity, the holidays, the wardrobe, friends & family reactions-there's so much in store for you. Just embrace all elements of the journey! 11. Lisa, I opted for "wet" fruits. I started with watermelon, strawberries-also both are low carb. Raw vegetables I was cautioned against until the three month mark. The veggies I did try in months 2 & 3 were all soft, wet, no skin. I had great luck with green Beans, zucchini & squash-but just the middle-no even the outside cooked. My surgeon said trying raw vegetables could be abrasive to the pouch, very hard to digest and basically ill-adviced until the third month. The above suggestions were the extent of vegetables I tried. At month 3, I did start with small amounts, usually an ounce at a time, of raw vegetables. I know many find lettuce intolerable but I've had no issues. Best of luck!! 12. Lisa, Thank you! I found inspiration from many I read about, watched on videos, etc. So, I hope you're correct-I'd love to offer that to others. Amazing...eh, lol. That might be a stretch, lol. But I walk 4 miles, three times a week; swim the other three days...taking one rest day. Now that is truly amazing! All the best to you! -Daniel Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. First, thank you. Not crazy at all! I completely understand. I didn't personally know anyone that had a gastric bypass, let alone anyone who was my size. I struggled tremendously to believe this could work. I know it works, it's definitely something that I work at everyday. I think making connections with others can make all the difference. Belief and hope are currencies of sorts. Sometimes you just have to borrow what you need and then pay it forward to someone who'll need your inspiration. 14. Sounds like you've crafted a great pre-op plan. You're already building a foundation of success. I, too, found that when my surgery day came a calm washed over me. All my planning was behind me and I was excited to begin my new opportunity at life. I did get a little choked up when my surgeon came in to check on me before they wheeled me back but I found an amazing surgeon and felt confident and at peace putting my life in his hands. Be well and God's speed on your recovery. -Daniel Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
