  2. The NUT at my program, and the surgeon, all stress at every class CaCitrate for BYPASS (bypass and sleevers are in the same classes and groups together) because of the absorbtion. They have told us multiple times and in all the literature they gave us that Ca Carbonate is fine for sleevers, and my NUT specifically has told us that the Viactiv is great for sleevers only.

    I've used sparkpeople for a long time now (found it during one of the pre-sleeve diets I tried). I've tried some others, but keep coming back to sparkpeople.

    Post-op hunger?

    I'm 2 weeks post-op, but one thing I've definitely realized (even before the surgery) is that many programs have similar, but different recs for post-op diets. So, please forgive me if I'm talking about something you already do. Our program's nutritionist has drummed it into our head that, in addition to our food (we start on mushies/solids but protein only starting week 2), regardless of what we eat, we are to get 60-90g protein a day from supplements for the first 3 mos. (Can't have Protein Bars though until 4 weeks out). I usually use ProtiDiet Hot chocolate (2 scoops = 20g pro) in the a.m. and then drink 1-2 Premiers (30g), but the days I fail to do this in addition to my food are the only days I've ever felt hungry. So, as soon as I feel hungry and realize this, I grab a Protein Drink. There's no way I could get enough pro with food alone at this point. So, if your program didn't recommend that, and you aren't doing that, it might be worth it to give that a try so that you don't overfill your sleeve.
  7. I know it's not juice, but I love the ProtiDiet Hot chocolate. Have it every morning almost! Also agree with the Syntrax Nectars. I love the Caribbean Cooler with the max Water amount and a squirt of Crystal Light Tropical Coconut in it. Tastes like pina colada!

  9. In addition to maybe not being ready for pork, that also sounds like an awful lot of volume to me. I'm 2 weeks out and our NUT says at this point (and for the next few weeks), our volume should be 1.5-3oz per meal. The range is because different volumes will fill you up differently. For example, she says she would expect us to only be able to eat (as an example) 1.5 oz of chicken, but 3 oz of refried Beans. One large egg is consistently 2 oz when I weigh it after scrambling and it alone fills me up...yesterday I tried chicken...2 oz filled me up and felt like a bit too much as well. So it might have been a volume issue as well? Sounds like you were pretty miserable, hope it doesn't happen again.
