What hospital will you have your surgery?Hi Everyone,
I am scheduled for June 29 here in NJ with Dr. Sadek. I started with a seminar back in July then scheduled a visit with the surgeon for December. I always wanted June because I am able to take time off from work with no penalty. I have been to the nutritionist twice, gone to the pulmonalogist, cardiologist and gastro. I have been cleared by psych and have my cardiac tests this week and scheduled my endoscopy for May 3.
I cannot wait!

You can workout at home. Leslie Sansone Walk at Home DVD, you tubes videos are very good.
Thank you Jamie. I am having a hard time with the working out. I was doing really well with an at home regimen but I am a single mom of 2 and a full time student so a lot of stress right now. I don't have the self confidence to go to a gym and am really struggling like that..I hate hate hate surgeons who think you need to lose weight on some sort of time table. Everyone loses at different rates. I was a "slow loser" but all accounts and yet I still managed to reach my goal weight where I've been maintaining for over 5 months. Are you sticking to your program? Are you getting your Protein and Water in? Are you exercising regularly? Is the scale still trending downward? If the answer to all of those questions is "yes", then I am confident you will continue to lose more weight!
PS: At 14 weeks I was down 32 pounds post-op. So pretty close to where you are loss-wise.

I don't really have fears per say, to be honest I genuinely excited because I can't wait to meet the new me. I am nervous about how I will look smaller but that is because I have never been small. I been chunky all my life.
I have a daughter who is chubby and I thought when she was younger I hope that she didn't end up a big girl like me cause it takes hella confidence to pull it off. Most times you are faking it till you make it. Anyway I plant to use this opportunity for both of us. Plus I have a list of things I want to do when the weight comes off. So I am just looking forward to all the possibilities.

I haven't had the surgery yet so I can't tell you all the wonderful things but I can tell you to focus on the reasons why you are doing it. Write them down put them where you can see them and everytime someone tries to discourage you let them words sink in and encourage you. This is your journey your life and no one else's. Your story will be completely different from someone elses cause it's yours. So get to living out your story and enjoy the adventure along the way. The good, the bad, and the in between. Hope this was helpful.

Ok thanks I have mine at the end of the monthJust one. It lasted about an hour.
How many sessions dude you have? They also want to know that you're prepared. My psych asked me to tell her about the procedure and what they physically do (removing 70-80% of the stomach), what the nutritional focus is after surgery (protein), how the diet is structured after surgery (liquids, soft foods, full food), and what Vitamins I'll need to take.
Other than that she just wanted to make sure I don't have any mental or physical issues that would preclude me from having the surgery.
It's relatively painless.

So today I want to Gastroenterologist and pulmonologist. They scheduled for me for my EGD, breathing test, and sleep test. So the process is real. I didn't realize all the steps but I am in it to win it. I also realize I have high blood pressure. So I have to see my primary might need medication so this surgery is coming at the right time. #teamgetright.
