Hey all, I am 3 1/2 wks post op. I feel like I didn't even have surgey, accept I know that I did because of the scars!! I can eat everything and although I am not eating all day when I eat my meals I feel like I can eat more than I should. I can't wait for my first fill. Can anyone tell me that after my fill things will be easier and get better and I should start losing weight???

DOES EVERYONE CUT ALL OF THEIR FOOD UP REALLY SMALL WHEN THEY EAT OR IS IT JUST THE MEATS THAT YOU HAVE TO CUT UP REALLY SMALL. I HAVEN'T HAD A FILL YET SO I HAVEN'T BEEN DOING THIS BUT I ALSO DON'T SHOVE FOOD DOWN MY THROAT IN BIG PEICES. IAM JUST WONDERING IF IT WILL BE EVERTHING THAT I EAT OR ONLY SOME THINGS.:confused2: AND IS THIS HARD TO GET USED TO? I WOULD IMAGINE THAT IT WOULD BE. MAYBE I SHOULD START DOING THIS NOW...

Hi! The port area is was really the only place where I have had any pain. If it is a constant pain, I would call your doc. Do you think that maybe you pulled it? I remember right after surgery I was feeling around and I pushed on the port and the pain was very, very bad!! I am 3 wks post op now and no pain at all. Hang in there you should be feeling a little better all the time.

Ladies, I would be very careful with anything that has "hoodia" in it. I took some about a year ago, the pure stuff I got over the internet and it can mess with other drugs you are taking. I caught a cold and was just taking regular cold medicine and between that and the hoodia I almost had a stroke! I went to er with a terribe headache and my bp was like 215 over 100 in something!! Aslo phentermine is dangerous too on your heart. BE CAREFUL!!:thumbup:

I am sorry this person hurt you. You are taking control of your health and need to do what is right for you. There will be people all through our lives that will not agree with what we are doing no matter what it is. I agree with the others she really needs to mind her own business and you don't owe her any explanations. Keep your head up and smile!!:tongue: You are making a very healthy move in your life. I am 3 wks post op today and I am going through the same hunger etc. as you. My dr will not do the first fill for atleast 6 wks out. I think every dr is different. I can eat about half of what I used to but haven't lost any more weight since I got off the liquid portion of the diet. I am looking forward to a little fill but at the same time I certainly don't think about food all the time or feel hungry like I used to!!:tongue:

Hi all!! I am only 3 weeks post op but I keep hearing about people losing their hair and that is kind of scarry....My surgeon told me that the hair loss is from the surgery and stress on the body and not from the diet. (as long as you get enough protein) Does anyone know this? When would someone start losing their hair? Also what is biotin and where do you get it??:confused2:

I have heard really good things from this site about people having their surgery in Mexico. Do as much research on the site and Dr as you can. Do you have a friend or other relative that could go with you? You will be OK. You are not going to die. I had these feelings also but then I couldn't get over just how easy it really was. Atleast for me. You will do fine and good luck!!

I Was Banded On 2/19/08 And Have Lost 9lbs. I Am In Bandster Hell Right Now. First Fill Will Be 4/3/08 And I Can't Wait!!

I don't think you are eating too much at all. My doctor told me to drink/eat when I am hungry. I only had to be a the clear liquid for 24 hours and full liquid for 1 week and then I got to go on mushies for a few days then regular food. I really would try not to cheat during this stage of the game. I did cave and ate 1 scrambled egg and got scolded for doing it. Hang in there this is a temprary phase it gets better every day!!

Does anyone know what causes the port to flip? I thought they stitched it on really good. I don't understand how this could happen...:confused2:

Yes, Thank you for that!! I posted this under post op also and someone said excersing before you are healed and because it is stitched on soft tissue it doesn't always hold and **it happens!!

Don't feel too bad. My insurance wouldn't cover me and I payed $16,500.00!

I AM HAVING A HARD TIME WITH THIS AND FEEL LIKE I AM PROBABLY EATING TOO MUCH. I MEASURED MY FOOD OUT FOR THE DAY TODAY AND HOPE TO STICK WITH IT BUT I FEEL HUNGRY AND NOT FULL UNTIL WOOPS, TOO LATE! THEN I FEEL LIKE UGH, I ATE TOO MUCH. ANYONE ELSE GOING THROUGH THIS?? ANY TIPS ON HOW TO GET THROUGH THIS PERIOD? I HAVE A MONTH TO GO BEFORE MY FIRST FILL...:thumbup:

I had my surgery on 2/19/08 and had only 1 day of gas pains in my shoulder and my port area was a little sore. I am already on regular food just have to measure and not overfill. Yes, I would do this again. Your health is everything. Good luck to you!

kRIS, YOU WILL BE OK. I HAD ALL OF THESE FEELINGS BEFORE MY SURGERY. I AM 2WKS POST OP AND I AM SO GLAD THAT I MADE THE DECISION TO BETTER MY LIFE. ONCE YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND AND THE SURGERY IS DONE YOU WILL HAVE SUCH A WEIGHT LIFTED OFF YOUR SHOULDERS. BE STRONG AND BE HAPPY!!!

Thanks Everyone! Yes, I Am Sure That I Am In Bandster Hell Now. I Don't Get A Fill For 5 Wks Because My Dr. Is Going To Be On Vacation. I Guess I Will Need To Start Counting Calories And Watching Portion Etc. I Do Not Want To Gain Back The 9 Lbs That I Lost!

I was so hungry around this same time. Day 3-4 post op. I had to do everything to get my mind off food. Hey, go get a pedicure or manicure!!! Once I got on mushies it was so much easier! HANG IN THERE YOU CAN DO THIS!! I have lost 10 lbs since surgery 2/19/08, but now I am in banster hell and everything is Ok to eat and no fill until 4/03/08!
