Didn't know it would be so hard
BJames42613 replied to dcd1397's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My exercise physiologist told me to stop weighing myself because I'll drive myself crazy... She said pick one day a month and do it then (I chose my surgery date every month). Everyone's body processes the trauma differently. Trust that the surgery is working and doing what your body needs. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -
My pain hasn't been terrible... I've barely touched my hydrocodone. I more so take it to help me sleep comfortably at night. My bed is super soft and hard to get out of, so I've been sleeping on the couch since I came home. Everyone is different, but I've heard the worst comes between days 3 and 6 of post-op. I'm on day 4 and still not really feeling it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

Southwest is a group of doctors, and you can choose who you want to work with. I was referred to Acheson to have my gallbladder removed, and once I met with him I was 100% sold that he needed to do my surgery. I've read some other patient's pre-op requirements from their doctor, and I would have in no way been ready for mine without Acheson. The psych eval, the dietician, and exercise physiologist all set me up for success and his staff is amazing. I was approved for my surgery less than 24 hours after my patient advocate submitted my request. I know that money is important, but when it comes to something like this idea take quality over money. I don't know Dr. Ganta, but I know Acheson is amazing. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -
I went through UHC and they approved me next day. See if your PCP can amend your recommendation letter. I did not have a co-morbidity listed, however my PCP added that I was borderline high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and pre-diabetic. It was enough for the insurance company to approve my surgery. Best of luck! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

I was just sleeved on April 26th... I'm north of Austin. My doctor is Dr. Acheson from Southwest Bariatric Surgeons. He was absolutely amazing. 2 days after surgery I found myself crying and asking what I had done to myself... day 3 I woke up and felt amazing. Once the gas pressure passes you'll feel so much better. Gross to say - but fart and you'll feel better. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -
I was also sleeved on 4/26! It was a really rough first 72 hours... Today I woke up feeling like a million bucks. I haven't had to use much of my hydrocodone, yet. I used some before I showered to make it easier for me to move. I'm having a hard time getting the 64ozs in me - I'm terrified to start vomiting again.
