    How much did you lose...

At 4 months, I was down 50. Here I am, 8 months out, and I haven't lost anymore. No one understands why... but 50 pounds is 50 pounds. Hopefully I'll start losing again soon. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
  2. I was sleeved on 5/4/16. I'm down 50 pounds so far, which is an accomplishment. I haven't been exercising because of some orthopedic issues. I havent lost anything in the last month. I'm having hypoglycemic episodes, and my body is apparently in starvation mode because I'm not getting enough Protein. Starting a 1 week liquid diet tomorrow to try and right the ship. My nutritionist wants to add carbs to my diet after the liquid week. Need to talk to my PCP about having blood work and a possible endocrine consultation. Does this get better? Or did I just make a huge mistake? Help! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    Frustrated big time...

My nutritionist wants me to do a week of liquids to try and restart my weight loss. She originally wanted to do a pouch reset but decided on this course instead. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    Frustrated big time...

I was doing fine. The weight was coming off, so be didn't really dive into my day to day, meal to meal numbers. I was having lots of issues getting all of my protein and all of my fluids. I don't snack at all. 3 meals, plus a pudding with meds. That was it. Turns out that I'm only getting 50-65g of protein a day. After the liquid week, I will go back to full foods, but most likely only 2 meals and keep a shake for one. I'll also have to add fruit as a snack to keep my sugar levels at a functional level. I have a heel spur in my left heel, a torn labrum in my right hip, 2 herniated discs in my low back and 3 in my neck, and an old right shoulder injury from a youth of swimming and softball. I do not have access to a pool to swim and will not use a public pool (my son is a cancer survivor, so the germ population has been made very clear). I have a gym membership, and just bought a bicycle, but every day, something feels like crap. Currently trying to find a restorative yoga class nearby, since the closest class to me is about 45 minutes away, and sells out 2 weeks in advance. I try to make the best of my errands, parking far away, walking the whole store, taking stairs, but it isn't dedicated exercise. And I'm just so tired...

    Anyone eat hummus?

I started eating it alone early on. Now I put a little on low salt chicken or turkey cold cuts to add some moisture. I also use it to mix crushed pills to take a break from yogurt or pudding. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    Question from a Non-cook

I am also married, and I don't cook. My husband is a professional chef. I eat mostly what he eats as far as Protein and veggies, just smaller quantities. I avoid carbs and sugar. I have my healthy Snacks (Protein Bars, cheese, nuts, granola, fruit). We eat together most every night, and at first, it was tough, but I chose this route and it doesn't bother me as much. We spent a lot of time on the road this summer for our son's travel baseball, so that was a lot of take out. We did fast food (Breakfast or sandwich, I ate the fillings without the bread). We went to restaurants (salads with a vinaigrette, grilled chicken or shrimp). Kept plenty of fruit and yogurt in the hotel room for snacks. Bottom line, my husband hasn't been inconveniencedo, and I'm down 50 pounds (surgery was 5/4/16). You can handle it all! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

  12. And I'm beyond frustrated. I'm down about 35 pounds total. That includes 19 I dropped before surgery. I thought I would have been beyond the 50 pound loss mark by now. I am in contact with my nutritionist daily. She's as confused as I am, but is optimistic and extremely supportive. I'm doing my 3 small Protein packed meals. No Snacks. Average a gallon of Water a day. 30 to 60 minutes of cardio at least 5 days a week. I'm just not losing anything. I'm so frustrated. Anyone else stall this early??? 14. Is the Nutritionist experienced in Bariatric Surgery? The most important thing is to get enough Protein and fluids. 40-60 grams is not enough. If you can't drink a pre-made protein drink - try making your own (bloating may have been from lactose) or drink Isopure (clear protein drink). She is the director of the bariatric nutrition program. She's trying everything to get me started again... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App We eliminated it because I was bloated and stalled. I was only having 3oz at a time, but it was too much for me. I was skipping meals. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App Skipping meals is one of the absolute worst things you can do for your metabolism. That's why we eliminated Snacks, to prevent skipping meals. Sleeved 5/4...

So, I had the sleeve done on 5/4. I was under the impression that weight would be falling off of me, but im only down 8 pounds. I dropped 19 on the presurgical diet and seem to be at a standstill already. Medical team says I'm doing fine but I'm frustrated, almost regretful. Anyone else have a similar experience? Please tell me I'm not alone... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

    Pre-Op Diet OMG! I'm Dying!

I've been liquid for 2 weeks. 550 calories or less daily. Full blown ketosis. Crabby, hungry, tired, emotional. Headaches, body aches, nausea. Oh, and PMS on top of it all. Surgery is Wednesday. If I can do it, anyone else can. I'm using the Premier shakes as well. chocolate is the favorite, followed by strawberry. Not a fan on the vanilla but I add some sugar free Chocolate syrup. Someone mentioned a sugar free cherry syrup which I want to try. Hang in there. You can do it! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App
