Timeline for Revision process?
Star Dust posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
For those that have had revision surgery, what did the timeline look like for you - from reaching out to your Bariatric program to surgery? I have Kaiser insurance and reached out to my bariatrics program last week. I had my band removed last year by their doctors, but no other tool placed. On my call, They said they would check if I needed to start at the beginning of their program or not. Then they got back to me with a date for a phone appointment with the doctor that took out my band last year. I trying to wrap my head around when I may be scheduled for the surgery and what they'll make me do prior to surgery. -
Wow, those are some significant injuries, I'm sorry to hear that. I had a lot of issues with my lap band and had it removed last June. The band made t hard to eat good foods like broccoli, spinach and lean protein yet it was easy to eat crunchy carbs. I had much better weight loss results prior to band surgery and when the band was unfilled. Hope your appointment answers some questions for you.

How adorable, a pissing contest over bragging rights for "likes". Hey, you gotta take 'em where you can get 'em. lol

No one asks for you to take your time out of the day to read their story. In fact, feel free to block me so that we can stop any issue now or in the future. The degree to which one should or shouldn't have to put up with something on this forum is not a finite answer. For instance, with regards to basic education, we learned early on to capitalize the first word of sentences. It sends the message that another phrase is beginning and when proper English was omitted from your response, your communication became cumbersome. However, my basic education has also taught me context so you don't have to worry as I understood you as I also understood the OP.

2+years post op Chronic Constipation
Star Dust replied to tfarr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do you know if there are any surgical solutions for the adhesions? I suspect that is the cause of my constipation. I worry a lot about chronic constipation after RNY, to the point of wondering if I rethink this surgery. -
Do I need surgery still? A reality check
Star Dust replied to wjgo's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Everyone is so different, this is a hard question to answer. I know that when I was *on* and had last 100 pounds, was very into my nutrition, macros, workouts and with a complete restructure of my routines, I was SO thankful that I had chosen natural weight loss rather than a bariatric surgery as a tool. I still thought that when I gained it back and lost 100 pounds again. Now 14 years as passed and each time I've gained weight it's been harder to loose it while following the same nutrition and exercise framework and my body is really starting to hurt. I need to do something quickly because even loosing 100 pounds means I still had about 100 more to loose and I'm not sure I can do that AND maintain it. -
At this point you should be totally restructuring your approach to food. It is fuel not there to comfort you with reminders of past routines. I'd really encourage you to wrap your head around maximine protien and nutrients per bite. Sent from my SM-G920T1 using BariatricPal mobile app

This will be the lady with complications who asks God 'why!!!!??' and he'll say 'my Messengers told you the doctor was a wack job, but you made a choice to worship a false idol and have him perform the sugery anyways' Sent from my SM-G920T1 using BariatricPal mobile app -

I would imagine your body will start loosing again soon, that is a lot to loose in 3 months. Maybe try to change up your exercise routine or add some different foods into your plan to shake things up Sent from my SM-G920T1 using BariatricPal mobile app

I came upon this thread when I was looking for the doctor site to see if they had post op info on their site.

I'm curious if had seen the negative things posted about Almanza on the board and still decided with this center or maybe they didn't come up when you researched your doctor?

iron and stomach issues, please help?
Star Dust replied to angyplus5's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Imho, iron infusions are the most effective way to increase your iron if you are critically low. My doctors at Dana Farber told me repeatedly that it is very very difficult to raise iron a significant amount orally. Sent from my SM-G920T1 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it resolves itself soon! Sent from my SM-G920T1 using BariatricPal mobile app

I am pre op from RNY but I read and see on YouTube constantly that a stall happens around week 8 and can last nearly a month. It sounds like it's just part of the weight loss process so just keep doing what you need to do and the weight will come off. Sent from my SM-G920T1 using BariatricPal mobile app

Dr Almanza is still doing surgeries? Is that the same guy that the US news did a story on a few years ago? Sent from my SM-G920T1 using BariatricPal mobile app
