HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! Lo2us, I wondered if you went to your moms. How long a drive is that? Are you feeling better? Got a fill yesterday, but haven't noticed it yet. Odd..... I thought this morning I would notice when I had my oatmeal. Maybe tomorrow when foods are back to normal. Did anyone ever decide why we have to do liquids, then mushies, after a fill? I never notice anything even if I cave in to mushies the first day when I am starving. Teresa, haven't had any shoulder pain. Be sure to ask about that next time you see the doctor. Maybe call Deb, the nurse. When do you go back? My ticker didn't change. On that site when it changed, it changed my goal weigh and pounds to go? Don't understand it. Must not be doing someting right, huh Lisa?
-
I think something weird happened with the ticker...just testing it here.
-
Hello everyone. Saw Dr. H today and got a small fill. I just ask for less than I got last time. Knew I didn't need the same. Which I am pretty happy about. I lost 6 lbs. from the last visit. Was hoping for more but with the holidays and ALL, I guess that was okay. Didn't have time for much breakfast, and now the rest of the day is liquids, boooooo. Having some tomato soup right now. Why do we have to do liquids, then mushies the next day after a fill? I was going to ask, but as usual, I forgot. I will be changing my ticker shortly. YEA!!! Not much but every little bit helps, especially when you are a member of the slow losers club! Oh, the meeting is at Wadley 7:00 on the 14th of January. Two weeks from tonight. Hope to see everyone there.

Shannon, hope your meds are kicking in and you are feeling better. I hate that you had to be sick on your holiday from school..That sucks. I guess Gus has a bunch of new toys to keep him occupied. I noticed you had Santa a day early, guess you had other plans for Xmas day? Take care and get better. Mylap, boy, you have great will power! Cooking Xmas dinner and not eating any. Good for you! That is just holiday pounds that you won't have to take off later. Good for you. I haven't gained but I know I would have lost better if I had been a "good girl," but can't say that I was too good. All company is gone now, so I am going to try to get back in the "Box." Hope you guys have been better than me. Lisa, bet Tanner is wearing that wii out. I am trying to decide rather to get a fill tomorrow or not. Never been faced with this decision before. I know that sounds ridiculas, but this is my first time to feel restricted in nearly 10 months. Like you I was 9 mos. out before I really had that strong restricted feeling. I guess you could say we are slow but sure. lol I think I am going to do better from here on out. We'll see.

Hello Arkansas Bandsters. I live in AR but was banded in TX. I live close to the state line. Had my surgery in Texarkana, Dr. Rachele Keilin, (Precision Surgery). Her husband and her do surgery together, (Dr. Ron Heiker) I love everything about them so far. They assist one another. It was all very slow going for me too. But things are picking up for me now. I think I am getting to the proper restriction now. Everyones anatomy is different. It has only been in the last couple of fills, especially the last one, that I have felt truly restricted. I have a friend that was restricted before her first fill. So, like I said, it is different for everyone. Don't get discouraged if it is slow at first. I go back for my 6th filll tomorrow, doubt I'll need much. Maybe just a "tweak." I am almost 10 months out. I am hoping to change my ticker tomorrow after my docs visit. I should have done much better, but the after holiday leftovers are killing me. I plan on getting back to normal this week. Everyone take care, and hang in there.
-
Hello all. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I had all my boys here and my Grandson, and a few others. That made my day. Seldon have all the boys together. I am blessed. My niece didn't make it, that was the only flaw of the day. First Xmas without her. They grow up and have other obligations. So, what did Santa bring you guys?
-
Hi Lisa. She was fine as soon as all the saline was removed. Just hope it goes back to where it it supposed to be or she will be facing another surgery. She was self pay also.she is in RN school and need to take care of everything before classes resume. Lo2us, where are you? Xmas shopping? How are things going down? Wonder how Mizboo is doing now? We wanna see pics. Oh I got a surprise! A new computer!! With a 22 inch flat screen HD monitor!! It's huge. I am still totally shocked. I love it. Mine was ten years old.
-
Susan, next time ask them to only remove a portion of what you were given. You must be just a tweak away from your sweet spot. Have some bad news, one of my banded friends band has slipped. She has lost a 100 pounds or a little more. She was very sick, but she has been unfilled completely in hopes of it going back to the correct position. She was fine after the unfill. They will check it again in 3 weeks and if it hasn't corrected itself they will go back in and correct it. Wonder where Vlynn is? Was hoping we would here from her since school is out. hmmmmm Lisa the leg is still healing. He said I will see improvement for about 6 months. Good thing, cause it still needs a lot of improving. Hate to complain since it is sooooooo much better than where I was a 6 weeks ago. I am going to try to get on a walking program after the holidays are over and things get back to normal. I haven't been exercising at all. I guess you have Tanner all set for Christmas? Especially since the little elf came through with the wii. Lucky elf! Lo2us, how are things going down? Is Gus getting excited?
-
Lisa, hope your mouth is feeling better. Lo2us, how is everything going down now that you are back to regular food? Mylap1 even the cream soups may need to be thinned. Unless the post op diet has changed. Take it easy until things"seat" or sometimes referred to as "scar" in place and heal. The diet isn't much fun but it doesn't last forever. Believe me, I was a weenie! Several her had to encourage me daily. Take care. Is everyone ready for Xmas? I am going to have to work hard on organizing the house the next couple of days. Shampooing carpet tomorrow. UGGGH!
-
Lo2us, glad you got some relief. I guess Gus gave Santa an earfull. lol. Bet he gets a load of toys. Poor thing, bet he doesn't have hardly a toy in the closet now. Shame on those elves that didn't get a wii after they came in AFTER Xmas last year! Pooooooooor Tanner. Grandson just told his Poppa he wanted a Power Ranger Rescue Mission vehicle, not one in sight. Oh welllllll. Mylap1...so glad to hear from you. Hang in there...it get's better every day after the third or fourth day. Just keep moving as much as possible. The movement helps break those big gas bubbles down to little ones, and then they dissapate. If the tums are helping, keep them going. One day soon you'll look back and wonder what all the fuss was about. Take care and keep close to the post-op diet. Get in all the protein you can, it helps the hungries. Hot chocolate is good if you like it. (SF). Keep us posted.

I am not real sure TP, but if you experience a slipped band, I think it makes you sick. I will ask next time I go in. Now that I have restriction, I noticed it right away. Of course not so much the first day because of being on liquids. I think Lisa feels it later sometimes. My restriction has been consistant this time. I may be lossening up a little but not too much. Eating less, but getting hungry before my next meal time, especially in the evening. That is also when I can eat more without problems. I guess this is par. Mylap1...how are you? ATTENTION ALL NEWBIES!!! Must post within 24 hours of banding so all of us know how you are doing!!
-
Hi Lisa, I already emailed you. My thoughts are with you and the family. I go back a week from Mon. for a fill. For the first time, yea... I am not sure I will need one. Having some trouble at night with reflux since my last fill. First time since band surgery. Dr. K fixed hernia and I haven't had a bit of trouble til now. I would like to get one, or maybe as Lisa would say, "a tweak." I know I won't need as much as before. I only have two gift cert. to get and I will be finished!! Finished all wrapping today. That is if DH doesn't sneak in something else for grandson. Does anyones kids or grandkids have one of those Smart-Cycle ? If so. let me know how it is. Mylap1....how are you??? How did it go?
-
Welcome mylap1. Post as soon as possible to let us know how things went. Walk, walk, walk and move around as much as possible, morning, noon and night. Heating pad is nice. Heed your post-op diet. It will pay off. Know that we are all rootin for you. lo2us, how about the fill?
-
Julie, I think I saw you, but of course didn't realize who you were. After the meeting I even ask a new girl there if she was "Julie." I was the short gray-haired lady. (purple shirt, gray jacket). Me, Tpagern, and lo2us sat toward the front this time. Sorry we missed you. Next month we will do better. Hubby and I went to Dixie diner to eat when it was over. We were hungry too. I met Teresa (Tpagern). I was glad to put a name to a face. Sweet person. There were some new faces there, and it is always nice to see people get their reward pins. One lady had lost around 60 some odd pounds, I think, and had only had her surgery 8 weeks ago. I believe she counted a month or two of pre-op dieting in her loss but I thought that was fantastic! I think I have lost 5 or 6 lbs since my last fill. So I hope that means I am on the losing road like many of you. I go back the 31rst, hope it is up to 10 to 12 lbs by then. Gotta go now. Everybody keep losing!
-
Hi Susan....got your tree up? Smarty! lol I planned on doing that today but didn't make it. I did get everything I have wrapped and put on the bed in the spare room. lol. I have one more shopping trip to make and that shoulp wrap it up. I planned on that last week but stayed in the docs office so long, by the time I did a few errands I was out of the mood and too tired. I have jury duty tomorrow morning. Never done that before. I hope I don't wind up being too sorry I put off that last shopping day. I am only putting up a small fiber optic tree, so that won't take more than a few minutes. Support meeting 7:00 at Wadley...tomorrow night,(Mon). Hope to see everyone there. Surely I won't have to stay in court that late.

Well, I lost a post again. Anyway Lisa, yes I still have restriction. Like Shannon, a lot in the a.m. I might eat a 1/2 cup of oatmeal for breakfast, if that. Usually soup for lunch, or one serving of a single veggie. I can eat more for supper, unless I get stuck. I have done a lot of getting stuck and then losing it, for relief. But that is getting better. That is new for me, even though I am 9 months out. I had been eating everything. Not now. Like Lisa, the band is finally working for me. I guess mine was loser around the opening of my stomach. So it has taken longer for me to reach restriction. I feel like I am getting the portion control help now. Woohoo. New Julie hang in there. You aren't too far out yet. It many times takes a few fills to start getting the help you need. It will come. Dr. K got a little more aggressive with my last fill, but I am 9 mos. out. Everyone is different. Some accomplish in two or three fills, what might take others five or six. Like me. Viper, hang in there too. Susan, what kind of puppy did you get? I have a Minpin. She is two yrs. Did they take out all your fill or just a portion? I thought they only took out a little. Meeting Monday night 7:00 Wadley. Hope to see you all there. Julie, I have an appt. the 31st 9:00 a.m. Maybe I will see you there.

Pregnant and Banded...come join me!
Sugarbear replied to raynie's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I believe most get unfilled durring the pregnancy. Check with your pcp or check with the lapband doc. Most of those guys have toll free number dont they? Or email him. The empty stomach in the a.m. causes many to be sick. You may want to put a few crackers on your nightstand to have first thing in the a.m. Call some doc to check out what you should do, quickly. Take care and congrats. -
Hello all. Dug in today on the Xmas shopping. Didn't finish, but got two thirds of it done. I will go back on Tues. and see if I can get the rest done. Bought several gift cards. I know that's the easy way out but just not into all the walking this year with the ankle. We shopped from 10 til 3 today. Had one more place to go but DH had "had it." Actually I had too. lol. Tried to eat some fish tonight, didn't go to well. hmmm. Better go.
-
wish412, I am so glad you are feeling well. Brother! The drop in size with a tummy-tuck! WOW! I know you are so happy. You are inspiring to us all. Can't wait to see your pics. Dh and I are going to T-Town tomorrow to dig in on the shopping list. Don't know how far I will get with him but I hope to do a lot. I go to the doc Tues. and will be by myself. so I will continue then. Take care everyone.
-
Weird....I was just typing here and the page moved and my post dissapeared!? Haven't done shopping yet but going to complete list today and try to "get-er-done" next week. I have to go to Texarkana to see the doc for my leg/ankle. Hope it's the last visit. I will try to do shopping then. I don't like to put tree up early anymore either. I only put a small tree up, fiber optic. I keep thinking I'll do something different, like get a nice prelit one on sale for next year. Used to put up a real tree every year, but not the last 3 or 4 years. Well, I see my post that I lost above this one? How did that happen? Better go now. Everyone take care.
-
I haven't done the shopping yet, but completeing my list and next week I am going to try to "Git-er-done."

Texarkana is having support group meeting Dec. 10, 7:00p.m. Wadley Hosp. So if any of you MP folks wanna join us, come on! Hope I have my Xmas shopping done by then. Plan on doing that next week. Hope I can go and zip through the list. I am cheating this year. Think I am mainly going to do Gift certificates. Restaurants, movies, ect. Just don't have it in me to do all the "shoping" this year. Don't think the leg/ankle will take it. If somebody has some good ideas, pass them along. TP, glad you have your problem cleared up so now you can start your shopping. Susan, are you doing good with your adjustment now? Have you ever had to have an unfil before? How are the nebies doing? Haven't seen you posting? wish412, how are you doing now after your surgery?
-
TP I am so glad you got your money back!! That would have been horrible if you hadn't. I hope they can figure out who used that card. All purchases are timed I think, it would be nice if they could look at the time, place, and a video of who used it. Susan, glad you are feeling better. I still have restriction but it is easing up. I think by the 31st I will ask for a tweak of a fill. not as much as I got this time. I think maybe that will be a sweet spot for me. I have really Missed Vlynn, also hearing about her DH Billy. Lo2us, you doing okay? I hope I am losing, I am not weighing too often. Maybe I'll see a little better results when I do weigh. I did put on a pair of jeans today that I can slide down without unbuttoning, or unzipping. NSV I suppose. Take care everyone.
-
Maybe you should just check with the management and see if they have been experienceing that problem. Letting them know of course that you can't be sure. If an employ is doing that they should be alerted. The only way they would suspect it is if someone alerts them. I love to eat there too. Didn't know about the 1/2 price apetizers. My restriction is loosening but not gone. Hope it stays til I go back the 31rst.

These cards should only have magnetic readings, like it reads when you swipe it. No printing of numbers on the outside. Of course we would have to remember them for phone or online ordering. TP you said you were sitting outside, where you waiting on a to go order? We have used our credit card in restuarants and other places, they could easily get the number and the three numbers on the back they sometimes ask for, especially on phone orders. If they aren't honest, they could get on a phone and order anything. Online too for that matter. I had a friend that got her credit card # stolen online. It took her about two years to get that straightened out. She did a lot of online shopping. I don't think she ever got all her credit history cleared. I had restriction the morning the morning after my last fill, big time. May have had it that day, but didn't realize it too much because I just did liquids. It seems to be relaxing a little now. I still haven't been back to my pcp about my blood pressure. But I cut back considerably on the meds. Swimming head syndrome is better. I am going to try to see him this week to get it adjusted. I have been monitoring it myself, don't know how accurate these home gadgets are. I did fine with the holiday dinner, not one pb. Guess it is relaxing some? Think I have even lost a pound or two. I go back the 31rst of Dec. Hope by then I can change my ticker.
