Susan, you must have had a difficult wart. At least it is gone now. Don't get out this weekend and get something in it while you are doing your dirt diggin. You sure don't want to get it infected. Sorry you had to get a boo boo on your bo bo. Maybe you will feel better by the weekend. Arkie. how are you? New Julie, how are you too? Didn't you get banded Wed? (yesterday?) I think somebody did. Keep us posted, we are always dying to hear how it went. Welcome to BandLand! Teresa, how's it goin??

Tpagern, you are doing fine. You are just recently getting to a regular food diet, away from swelling, getting to a good exercise point, ect. Not all but most, take a few fills before it helps much with the hunger. Some more than others. Take Lo2us for example, she has been restricted from the get-go. Small amts of food fill her up, just a few bites. It is common sense to realize her band is tighter around the opening of her stomach than some bands are around the opening of others. Sometimes it takes several fills to get the band full enough to make a tighter grip around the stomach opening. Therefore more restriction, feel fuller quicker, ect. Now me, I am on the other end of the spectrum. I have had 5 fills, I am feeling more restriction but nothing like Lo2. She may not even have to have another fill. We met a couple of people at our meeting that lost all their weight on 2-3 fills. I suspect I will go several more. Take care, you are doing fine. We do not weigh at meetings. We get helpful hints, nutrition info, sometimes have a speaker, ect. The end of the meeting, it is asked if anyone has lost 50 lbs, and they get a pin, 75lbs, 100 lbs, ect. We have two men that go to our meeting in Texarkana, that have lost 200 lbs!! Now, that's super encourageing!!!!!!!! Lisa...POOEY, you mean they forgot the pin ceremony? Well KUDOS for LISA :clap2: :whoo: :whoo: :biggrin1: :biggrin1: :biggrin1: :D :kiss2: :clap2: :bounce::rainbow::cheer2::):):wow:

Hi Arkie. Give yourself a little more time, you are only 4 days out. Drink something hot to start, that seems to help. Only sips at a time. A heating pad helps a lot of people for comfort. I didn't really have much swelling but some do. Lots of short walks will help with the discomfort of the air. All the frequent movement helps break down thos large air bubbles to smaller ones, then they will dissapate. Be sure to follow the diet they gave you at the hospital. I know it sucks, but it seems to work toward the success of healing. I got some sugarfree Hersheys syrup and made hot chocolate with it. mmmmm Or which ever flaver you like. Seems like the hot stuff feels good. + you get some Protein. Also, I know this might sound a little weird but, If you like Jello, you can drink, (your flavor) hot jello. You will get tired of broth after a while. Hang in there, it will pass, and you will move on to better foods, you will enjoy it too! Lo2us, glad HC went well, now maybe you can relax a bit. Whew! Any new people have questions, fire away, someone on here can come up with an answer.

That's right Teresa, it really doesn't matter. I have decided to keep up with the total in my band from time to time. The restriction around the opening of the stomach varies for everyone All of us are different sizes (stomach opening.) I have had 5 fills and still do not experience much restriction. On the other hand, Lo2us experienced restriction from the get-go. She couldn't even tolerate the average size fill for a med band. They had to back some out. She got a small 2nd fill and has been really restricted. Went for a third and didn't need one at all. She has lost a lot of weight in a short period of time. Everyone is different. I am having a difficult time getting to the "sweet spot" as they call it, or even to decent restriction. But I have been assured it will happen. I do have some restriction, just not very much. Not wanting to discourage you, just letting you know it is different for some of us. Half of my weight lost was pre-op. I am just going to be one of the pokey ones. But as you can see, most are having good success. As you will too. Take care. Wonder how Arkie is doing?

Good luck today Arkie! Remember, walk, walk, walk.....move, move, move. That is a must in getting rid of that air that is soooo uncomfortable. Teresa..What a game! Lisa, still no weight bearing, 3 more weeks, then, as tolerated. At least it is comming to an end.

Congrats Dr. H and HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. K. lO2US is dropping weight like hot butter of a roll. I missed a month at the meeting and when I saw her walk in I thought OMG ! She is looking great. I saw several at the meeting that are doing fantastic! I went back to the doc today and I am healing well. Got to skip the second cast! I am in a Gait Boot. I am still not allowed to walk for three more weeks, then I can bear weight as tolerated. We will be going on vacation then, so I hope it goes well. You guys are really doing great! Those tickers are really moving. I hope mine will too, soon. Oh, went to the Ironwood grill today for lunch, it was great! Dr. K I hope you get a "nice" stone of your choice.

Got an email from Mrs. Betty. YES, the meeting is on for Mon. (tomorrow night.) 7:00 p.m. I don't know why it didn't get posted on noscales. Guess Dr. H is super busy. Hope everyone had a great weekend. We went to Nashville, AR to hear Cheryl Wright, think that was her name. Anyway we really enjoyed it and the weather was beautiful. I haven't been getting out much these days, so I enjoyed it more than usual.

LO2us, glad to hear from you! I have never denied a fill, but I think you may have to wait. Not real sure but I was thinking someone said that on here. Doesn't sound like you need one anyway. Dr, H said if you are sick and or can't eat enough, you are too tight. He told me that last visit. He said if that doesn't ease in a few days, call them. I was a little surprised at that. Thought you had to wait longer. Anyway that never applies to me. Sometimes I wonder if I have a leak, like Susan did. I think it was Susan. I am 7 months out now. I am so glad you are doing so well! It feels wonderful, huh? I am looking forward to seeing you Mon. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUS!!!!!!!!!!

GRRRREAT Julie! Gosh, I guess you have to start the slimefast immediately! Like yesterday?! Stick to it, it will be worth it and it is for your saftey. Shrinks the liver. I am assuming the meeting will still be at Wadley, at 7:00 p.m. It hasn't been posted yet on noscales.com For you newbies, that site is where Dr. H post the seminar dates and support group meetings. Texarkana is always the second Monday of the month. Other info is also posted there.

Teresa, you probably won't miss too much of the game. Starts at 8 right? You will know who I am, the one with the purple cast. I won't be hard for anyone to spot. LOL The only reason I wouldn't be there is if DH got off to late to get me there.

Susan, I am with you all the way. It is wonderful to reach a goal. Who knows what will happen next? DH says he will bring me to the meeting. My surgeon called and rescheduled my apt for Thurs. to Tues. POOEY! We also have to go to T town on Wed. So that will be three days in a row going to Texarkana. Betty are you back? Take care everyone.

Hello all. Just had a weird thing happen. I was posting and it just disapeared? What's with that? Been working with hubby this week. He has been extremely short-handed. Mizboo, I am not sure I know who you are. Approach me at our meeting. I know you live in or around Hope, from your posts. Yes, I am ajusting as well as I can. I guess you know me though. I will be glad when I can get around myself. He still won't let me bear any weight on it. I go back Thurs for another cast. Hoping he will let me limp on it. I haven't been able to stand any pressure on it anyway. Can you believe it has been over 3 weeks since I have even driven!? I guess the next meeting is the 8th. I plan on being there. My husband did not have the surgery. I am going to encouraging him when I get mine paid for, or at least paid down. I am working on that. I hope I have success with this for him to see. I am just so slow. I fot a fill last Tues. I am beginning to feel it some now. I love to eat at Amigo Juans. But shouldn't. I am hoping next week will be a turning point with my leg/ankle, pain wise and healing wise. It will be 4 weeks Wed. Take care everyone!

Thanks Julie and Lisa. Thj, they make the best cakes ever! We had them do an Italian Cream, and a fresh strawberry for a party one time and everyone raved. That has been awhile, but they were so moist, unlike most cakes. I may have lost 2 maybe three pounds. I think that is about the weight of the cast. Our fair is going on too. I don't guess I will get to take my grandson this year. I hate that! He is so much fun to take. He doesn't get to do a lot and when he does, he is soooooo happy. He is so easy to please and so happy. He is 3. My one and only. Julie, if your ins pays and you don't have to argue with them, your approval should be quick. If not, confront your ins and ask them when your approval is comming. They don't get in a hurry for anything but a premium. After approval all you have to do is get a surgery date, and do your pre-op diet.

Hey Julie, you are right, it was great to get out and I think you may be the only person that likes Slimfast! lol Maybe you could just call your insurance co. They are the ones holding the cards. Do they allow WL surgery on your plan? Mine did, but only 50%. So there wasn't really any waiting. Did you get all your pre-op stuff completed? They are really efficient at PS, so when they get the word I think they will call pretty quick. It is easier to do this before the holidays. BUT, we have some that did the pre-op durring the Xmas holidays. Whew! They are some tough gals!I have a friend that had her surgery Dec. 28th! She felt like that was one way to avoid all the extra holiday food that would pile extra pounds on for her to have to get off. She was a trooper. Me, I am a weenie. My friends on this thread helped me through every day of pre-op. Hang in there, it will be here before you know it. It is quite a journey. You will do great.

Hi to all. I went for a fill this a.m. We rushed over and straight back. My husband is short handed at the store. I would have loved to stay for a while and done something. I am really getting cabin fever. I did not lose any weight unless it was a pound or two. We didn't know what the cast weighed. The good news is that I hadn't gained. Could hardly believe that. All I do is eat and lay up for the most part. As usual I don't feel anything but a gurgle once and a while from the fill. Of course today it will be liquids and tomorrow mushies. Hopefully I can tell something in a few days. Dr. Hekier said I was doing okay. It was busy today too. He was very nice and took time with me. I suspect it will be busier everytime we go due to all the people getting banded. Well got to go and get this darn leg in the air. Julie, Mrs. Betty is back. Hope you hear something soon.

Lo2us, didn't know you were making a trip to VA. What's the occasion? 1 1/2 years! I'll bet you are excited! How long can you stay? Are you playing hookie a few days? Lisa, since I can't stand too long on one leg....I really have been at the mercy of the food comming in. We did go to the grocery store the other night, finally. I transferred from my transport chair to one of those scooter carts. Don't even know what the scales are saying....can't get up on them. I wonder if I will be able to weigh at PS? Wonder how much this cast weighs?lol Everyone is doing so well. Congrats. Keep it going. Hope I can get a fill Tues. Maybe this one will give me the shove...or should I say the squeeze, I need.

Hi all. Hope everyone is doing good. Shannon, glad to see you post, I was getting worried. Thought it was you that told us about the protein bullets? I went back to the surgeon yesterday. Found out that I not only broke my leg but broke my ankle on the other side of my foot too. Now I know why that side hurts so much. Duh.... I just had to look when all that dressing and stuff came off. EWWWW didn't like what I saw. Got my staples out, but they left the sutures. Never seen any like that before. They will get those next time. I did get a cast, and return in two weeks to have it off and get another one. Still, no weight bearing. POOEY! Keep it elevated. So laid up 2 more weeks. This is the pits! Oh well, one thing about it..it's gotta get better. Right? I am supposed to go back for a fill Tues. If I have a ride. I know I haven't lost a pound. I am looking forward to this fill. Lisa you give me lots of hope in that department. Thanks. All the rtest look like you are doing good. KEEP THOSE TICKERS MOVIN!!!!!!!
