    6 months post op...CAN'T EAT!!!

I am trying. I can only eat raw fish (sushi) and have to be careful with it as well, can also eat raw oysters. But no eggs or soft meats. I am able to drink lots. It helps to know that it does seem pretty normal and makes me worry less. That I am thankful for.

Yea, I keep hearing that. I should be careful what I wish for but my biggest fear was that I would not be able to enjoy food again and my surgeon ensure me that I would but just in really small portions.

    6 months post op...CAN'T EAT!!!

Well I am eating slow and not too much. But yea, just in general eating is an unpleasant experience. Makes me sad. Just hope a day will come when I can enjoy a small portion of a variety of foods...waiting.
  4. I would be interested if we can do a central meeting spot:)
  5. I would be interested as long as it isn't too far and the time works. Weekends are better for me bc I have two small children.
  6. I am six months post op and am very happy to have lost 70 lbs, however, I am not able to eat most foods that I should be eating at this time. I should be eating lean meats and veggies but can't. I understand that my portions are going to be tiny but I continue to try to eat meats and it usually comes back up after two small bites. I got my gal bladder removed after getting x-rays, ultra sounds and an endoscopy which all showed everything was fine. They only found a few gal stones. Still nothing has changed. I went back to my doc today and he said I should be careful what I wished for bc I have had such great weight loss and that is why I got the surgery. He said it takes some people up to a year to start tolerating meats and veggies. I am so frustrated bc I am so hungry but the only thing I can safely eat and not puke is pop corn. Help!! Has anyone else gone through this? Does it get better?
  7. I haven't had the surgery and am looking into options since my insurance will not cover it. But I would love to get some feed back on your experiences etc.
  8. Anyone else out there that has insurance that won't cover? I read that some surgeons will work with you. I am in Chicago. Any feedback is welcome!
