Vayiayia, I've never heard of that happening, but I'm sure anything is possible. Maybe straining from vomiting causes pressure on the nerve of your extremities. I dont know. Did you search it on the lapband site? I've learned you can pretty much find anything on there. If its happened, it's on there. lol Sliming, etc.. is no fun. I can see why you're hesitant about getting another fill. What size is your band? It sounds weird that 3cc in your band could do that. Della, You're doing fabulous. Keep up the great work! Hi Keam, How's your latest fill going. How much did Dr. T put in? I'm still struggling with little restriction. I haven't been back in. I hit my bandiversary on the 11th. I need to schedule my appt. with Dr. T's office to have my before and after pics taken. I'm still discouraged that I had no more restriction with my last two fills. I feel like the band reject. :-( I am still doing well. I dropped two lbs in the last few weeks. It's definitely slowed down, but I guess that's normal. I exercise like crazy, so I am losing more inches than anything. I feel like I get hungrier more in between meals, and can eat more at one sitting. I just don't know what's wrong with me. Lotus, The seminar talks all about what the band does. They show you a little movie, and talk about the band vs bypass, etc... You learn alot from it. You fill out some paperwork, and that paperwork determines if you're eligible based on your weight, etc... Good Luck in your journey. You've taken the first step to being healthy! Kimaly: Did you have your surgery at WLSC? They have a support group at Sentara Careplex in Newport News. Not too far from Suffolk.

No restriction here after my first fill. Most people do not have restriction after the first fill or the 2nd. It usually takes like 3-4 with the realize to get restriction. You are doing fabulous!
-
I remember now, you had Dr. T as well. Do you have the new 11 cc realize band. You are in a very similar situation as me. Very similar in size when we started, etc... Because we are actually one of his "smaller" patients so he says, it takes alot more fluid to fill the band to get to restriction. It sounds like you are taking aggressive fills as well like I did. My first fill was 5cc. I was like HOLY WOW! I've been filling every 6-8 weeks since then. I've had like 6 fills. He says you can fill over the max, but I've heard that it can fold the band if you do that too much. I haven't asked him about that. I'm a little discouraged right now because my band filled so fast. I have had great weight loss, but man I have worked for it. I'm still very happy I did this. I know I could not have gotten here on my own. I guess I just worry about the future and maintenance. I worry because I really don't have any room in my band for maintenance fills.
-
They were pretty aggressive with your fills too.
-
Yeah, that is my feeling exactly. I'm already maxed out, although they say they can go a little over. I'm at 9.2 in a 9cc realize. Do you have a realize band. Also, I was trying to remember. Did you go to WLSC of Hampton Roads, or did you go to Norfolk Surg on the Southside. I can't remember if you said.
-
Hi Keam, how are your fills going? Do you seem to have good restriction? Congrats on your loss. You're doing great!

I fight head hunger all the time. I always feel hungry. I can't tell if it's real or head. I'm sure it's probably head!

POLL - Whats your sweet spot in 10cc band?
luvmy2dogs replied to bunnykin4u's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My surgeon also said he can overfill. Not 3 cc hahahahaha but he did say he has people up to a cc over their max. hmmmm makes me wonder, as other times he has said that he has no one to their max. I'm so confused and discouraged. How am I going to keep this weight off with no room left in my band? Now, I'm eating the same and exercising just to keep it off. I'm not even really losing anymore. -

Do you have the realize band. I agree something just doesn't sound right. I'm just not sure what to do. I have thought about going to see someone else and having them look at my band, but I just don't know what to do. It just doesn't seem right that I have that much and barely have restriction. I know I am losing weight, and that may be why they aren't taking me seriously, but trust me. I work for every little lb. I run like 3 miles per day and some days do weights along with it. I exercise my butt off, and really watch everything I eat. I count every calorie. I guess I just thought this would be a little easier than it is. It is so much of a struggle. -
POLL - Whats your sweet spot in 10cc band?

Frustrated here. I have 9.2 cc in my 9cc realize band. I'm to the max. I guess my surgeon says you can go over, but who knows... what do you guys think? I feel like I have less restriction with every fill. I have less with this fill than my last fill. I have gotten a fill pretty much every 8 weeks since I had my band put in a year ago. It will be a year for me on 9/11. Yes, I have lost alot of weight. It has been very hard. I really feel like I have only had restriciton or to my "sweet spot" once. I had a very bad vomiting episode after that, and it seemed like it loosened the band. I went in, had it checked, and he said all was fine but that it was loose. Gave me another fill.. no difference. got another on 8/6 and no difference. I want to scream! I'm hungry alot, and I can eat anything. I don't PB, slime, get stuck, etc... I feel like my band was put in wrong or something and they just don't want to tell me. Sometimes that how I feel.... Also, I'm discouraged that I'm at 9.2 in a 9cc band in just a year. I have no where else to go with it. Anyone feel like this?? -
WOW! Where is everyone? This is a very non-active thread. How is everyone doing with their band? How about the newbies? We need some action on this thread!

How Many cc's in your band and how is
luvmy2dogs replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
slow losing is not a bad thing. You are 30 lbs less than when you started. That is a major accomplishment. You still have quite a bit of room in your band. How much weight do you have to lose altogether? I know I have done great with the weight loss, and all my hard work has definitely paid off. I don't mean to sound ungrateful at all, because I certainly AM NOT. This has been the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I feel a world better and am not taking ANY MORE asthma meds. It's amazing. I'm just concerned with the what's next after I'm full to capacity. -

rcruz: you seem like you're in about the same spot as me, with 8.7 cc and a year out. I'll be a year out in Sept. and we've lost the same amount of weight and at the same cc fill. Has this journey been just as hard for you? It has been an every day counting calorie exercising frenzy journey for me. Almost like before I had the band, but the band definitely does help with the hunger. I'm sure I couldn't have done this without it. I know I couldn't. My surgeon said I have had bypass results because of how hard I worked. He said 80 lbs in less than a year is fabulous. But... man did I work my butt off for this. I guess that is why I am so petrafied to gain it back. What if I get back to feeling hungry like before the band. Eventually I wont have any restriction again, right? -
How Many cc's in your band and how is
luvmy2dogs replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had pretty good restriction, and then lost it after a couple months. I may have been a little too tight, as I had a pretty major sticking episode on some pills I took at night. Then.. after that, not much restriciton. I went in for a .2 fill, and I noticed no difference at all. I guess we'll see how it goes after this next one on the 6th. I'm just really concerned that my band filled up so fast. I do well with my eating, and I exercise EVERY DAY. But.. I have to say, I'm scared to death of gaining this weight back. I worked so hard to get it off. I feel like this whole thing was really a lot of work. SO many say it was so easy for them, but for me it has been a constant battle. If I don't exercise every single day, that scale does not budge. It's not budging now, and now I'm eating the same, and exercising every day just to maintain what I have lost. I've barely moved a few lbs in the last few months. HELP ANYONE! What are your thoughts on this? Am I going to have to kill myself like this the rest of my life to keep it off? I don't know if I can keep this pace up forever. I am literally an obsessive exerciser, because I'm afraid if I don't that is 500-600 calories that is left in me every day. I know I will have to maintain the better eating lifestyle and continue to exercise, but will I have to starve every day and exercise like this every day just to maintain? I thought I would have a little room to relax and just maintain good eating habits etc.. to maintain. Not diet my butt off to maintain like when I was losing. UGH! -

NayNay, I too sometimes feel like maybe I needed a different band, or placed differently, etc.. I just don't know. I was filled very fast as well. I'll be at max capacity before my year bandiversary. I guess I was hoping I still kept some room for the coming years to help maintain. I know some that aren't full after 3 years. What the heck is wrong with me? -

It makes perfect sense. What does your surgeon say about you being at 8.7 and not having restriction. Mine says he doesn't have anyone to the max at one visit and the next he says he has some teetering around the max. ??? Is anyone to the max and not have room for anymore? I would love to hear from some like that. I have never held restriction for 7 months. Mine usually lasts about as long as it takes to get to my next appt. which is about 8 weeks. It's very discouraging. I feel like a dud sometimes. I know I have done well. I've lost almost 80 lbs. But... what next when it's full? Good luck with your fertility treatments. I went through all that as well, years ago. 7 IVF cycles. YIKES! The ended up with an ovarian tumor and had to have a complete hyster. this past Oct. A month after my band surgery. But... I'm old! LOL! -
How Many cc's in your band and how is

Trisha, I have the Realize, not the realize c. My band holds 9cc. I have 8.4 or 8.6 in it right now, and need a fill. I'm getting another fill on Aug 6th. I'll probably be at the max level by then, then what... that is my concern. Is anyone to the max on it yet? I guess I'll be the first to be maxed out on the realize band. After that, what do I do to keep the weight off if I have no room left for a fill. -

luvmy2dogs replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My last fill was June 4th for a total of .2. This did absolutely nothing for me, and I feel like I have very little restriction. I had some after my fill before that. It took me to 8.4 cc. That was ok for a few weeks, but then I lost restriciton. I'm at a total of 8.6 in my 9cc realize band. I really don't have much more room in it to fill. I'm very concerned. I am down almost 80 lbs, but how will I keep it off, and continue to lose if I'm at the max fill mark? Is anyone at the max fill? Also, I feel like I filled quick. I'm 10 months out from surgery. I hear of others that still have several cc's in their band and are out 3 years. YIKES! What's wrong with me? -
Hi, Just checking in... How is everyone? Weight loss is slow at my end. I'm coming up on 80 lbs, but man I struggle for every one. I seem to be able to eat a little more now. I think I need a fill. I got one on 6/5 of .2, but it wasn't enough. Nothing.. I mean nothing gets stuck at all. Must be a sign I'm a little loose. My concern is that I'm at 8.5 cc in my 9 band. YIKES! I still get afraid I'm going to get to the max of my fill and that will be it. Hope all the newly banded folks out there are doing well!

Hi Keam, When Dr. T puts you on mushys, he'll probably tell you the number one food that is perfect for that is CHILI! You will be in heaven! Wendy's Chili. It's loaded with protein. Beef, beans, cheese, etc... Also refried beans are great, yogurt, cottage cheese. Anything with a lot of protein that is soft. You can also make egg salad. Easy on that mayo. Use light. Susie says use mustard, but who the hell can put just mustard in egg salad? YUK! Anyway, I think it will actually be a little easier than you think. You will be so happy to have real food and not just liquids. You can still stick with your protein shakes, etc..Although, you'll stay fuller on soft and mushy foods. Tuna salad, chicken salad. I ate a lot of yogurt. Oh, and cheese. You can have cheese. HOORAY! Glad to hear things are going well for you! Welcome to band land! You're on the road to great success. Congrats on the 12 lbs.

Has anyone reached their max fill level before the 1 yr mark?
luvmy2dogs replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am worried about this same thing. I am at 8.6cc in my 9cc realize band. I had good restriction, and then had a sticking episode, and have been loose since. I had a fill of .2cc two weeks ago, and it did nothing. I'm afraid I'm going to get to my max and I'm only 9 mos out from surgery. Then what! -
Hi Life, How's it going!!

Hi Keam, how's it going so far? Hope all went well with your surgery!

First patients to have Realize...let's hear from you!
luvmy2dogs replied to 2BtinyinTN's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
WOW! That is agressive. I thought my first one was aggressive at 5cc. I never heard of the Realize C band. Is it new? Guess it doesn't realize what band you have. They all do the same thing. Hopefully you have more restriction now. Be careful!
